Hey! I don't have experience with it personally, but I actually work as a nurse in hospital, and many patients swear by dry shampoo becuase they can wash their heir everyday, even if they can't get out of bed. I thought it was so neat. I say give it a try!
I use dry shampoo because I am a big hair colourer and it is so much better if you can avoid daily washing. I don't like the sprays because they get everywhere. I use this one:
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P230539&categoryId=C17780&shouldPaginate=true
I put a little in between my hands, rub them together, then rub them over the parts of the hair that need touch-ups (bangs, part, hairline)
I DO!!! this is the kind i use:

i love it! One thing though, it worked perfectly with my blond hair, but since i recently dyed it brunette, i really have to brush it in or else your scalp looks powdery and white :( But, if you have blond hair you won't see it at all!
i wash my hair every other day and use the dry shampoo in between and it really does make a difference. try it!!
i've never used that brand you have pictured but i saw it at sephora when i purchased mine...i'm sure both brands are quite similar :)
I'm an "every other day" washer (although I still wet my hair on the days I don't wash just to rinse it) and don't feel the need for dry shampoo. Over time your hair adjusts to your washing schedule.
If you don't want to spend the $$$ on dry shampoo (it's expensive) you can also use corn starch (just a tad!) and soak up excess oil. If you have dark hair you can use a 50/50 mix of corn starch and cocoa powder. Google it - it works!
I use it occasionally at the roots when I don't have time to shampoo. I've never used any of the more expensive brands though, I get a drugstore brand called Psssst (not sure the exact number of Ss, lol). Basically it's just aerosol and baby powder, I can't imagine what the expensive brands have in them. I usually find it tucked on the bottom shelf at CVS.

Bumble and Bumble has a dry shampoo that is colored so you don't get that strange powdery look. It sprays on and works really well. I use it occasionally, but not for oil absorbing. It's an amazing texture product that give fantastic volume and grip for styling! Also if you have done your hair the day before, you can pep the style right back up with the dry shampoo. Good stuff, but takes some playing with for sure!
I tried the Oscar Blandi stuff and thought it was terrible! It was like i poured baby powder all over my head and I know I didn't use too much. It made a mess in my bathroom too! Maybe the spray kind is better but this one went all over the place! I have brown hair and it was really hard to rub it in. Also, my hair felt incredibly gross and dirty, which I can't stand. It didn't look as greasy but it still felt like it.
I use Tigi Rockaholic brand and love it! Makes my hair look freshly washed and has a great scent.

I've only ever used the camping version. That way you don't muck up the water for people and animals downstream. I don't really know how well it works, but I like that it keeps my hair from getting all gross and greasy
@JoJo dry shampoo will always leave your hair with a certain... texture that may make you feel its dirty. Nothing will ever replace good ole' water and shampoo, and it's definitely not for everyone!
I use it regularly, mainly because I am too lazy to blowdry my hair everyday. I have had no probs with it. I also use the Tigi Rockaholic one.
@ToasterCat- ooo i wanna try that colored Bumble & Bumble stuff! sounds good!
I started using it so I could get away with an every other day wash as well. I like it so far and have been experimenting with different brands until I find the one I like the most.
@kirabee- i used to use pssst too!! its super cheap, like $2, but hard to find!
i'm a HUGE fan of dry shampoo! i use whatever i see @ sephora and grab, ojon has a dry spray shampoo, right now i have tigi rockaholic it smells great!
Wow! Thanks for all the feedback!! I will definitely try it out..I think it is worth a shot to see whether I like it or not. Even if it is a little expensive I figure I will be saving money by not using shampoo and conditioner every day so it will pretty much even out in the end! Thanks again for all the advice :)
I have used the powders and sprays. I like the sprays much better they seem to absorb more, leave a better scent, and disappear easily. I have tried Klorane, Oscar Blandi, and the Bedhead Rockaholic. Rockaholic is by far the best and the least pricey of the three. I can't find Psst! but I have heard its very good too
I use it when I go backpacking and can't shower for a few days. It works alright. It is kind of expensive though. I have tons of hair, so it doesn't go too far for me. But I guess it's better than really nasty greasy hair!
I use cornstarch! It's so cheap! I sprinkle it in throughout my head, parting as i go and rubbing it on, then i run a brush through it, sleep on it, and i have perfect hair! I washed my hair....Monday night. I cornstarched it Tuesday night. Curled it/hairsprayed it Wednesday, and I'm wearing it up in a ponytail today. So yes, it's Thursday and I haven't washed since Monday. I could probably wear it up again tomorrow w/ a headband too
I have been thinking about using dry shampoo for the longest time, but I was never sure what brand to buy since, besides Pssssssst (probably too many S's), the brands Sephora carries are more expensive than what I thought dry shampoo would cost. Thanks to everyone who reviewed the brand they use!
I have dark brown hair and use the Oscar M. Brand shown above. I'm not a HUGE fan of it vs. baby powder except it has a nice lemon-y smell. I use it right before I go to bed (on the roots of my bangs, part, sides by my ears, and crown) and rub it a little bit. By morning it's generally gone and my hair looks normal.
I've also used a BIG bottle of baby powder, shaken it, and squeesed it into my hair, worked just the same execept I smelled like a baby!
I just saw a youtube clip of a girl recommending invisible dry shampoo that doesn't flake and is easily accessible.
Oh oh! Oscar Blandi, Tigi or Big Sexy works really well. I mainly use them as a texturizer though for my fine hair since I still will shampoo everyday. I love love dry shampoos, they allow for a style to hold longer and there are plenty of aerosol sprays that wont leave a whitish residue.
I tried Bumble and Bumble but I hated it. I didn't like the starchy feeling.
I don't use shampoo at all anymore. I scrub with Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner, rinse, and use more conditioner to detangle. My hair used to be really oily (I'd shampoo it twice to get all the oil out!) and now it's not at all (it did take a couple of months to adjust). I think I was drying my scalp so much it was producing more oil. Giovanni is expensive but it doesn't have silicones, SLS, alcohols, or other drying agents that are bad for your hair. I can also get it for half price in bulk at my local coop. So, rather than dry shampoo try no shampoo!
@SanDiegoAli lol! I am SO trying the cocoa powder mix! Just colored my hair dark, so my normal cornstarching doesn't hide nearly as well as it used to. Thanks for the tip! :)
I only wash my hair maybe twice a week, and maybe only heat style two or three times a month. I use Hairtrition Sufalte free shampoo and condititioner and also their leave in detangler for in between. My hair is the healthiest its been in a very long time and I color my hair as well. But I only use the semi permanent color that washes out in 28 shampoos, there's no ammonia
I wanna try the bed head one, I have been meaning to try the dry shampoo for a while now, so thanks for the post and responses! Anyone know where to find the Bed Head?
ive always wanted to try this...i know its bad for my hair to wash it every single day but i have very fine, very oily hair nomatter what i use. my hairdresser suggested i wash it every other day but i find that on the off days, i keep it in a pony bc i think it looks greasy! i def want to try some of these.
tnx bees :)
I bought the TIGI ROCKAHOLIC at Fred Meyer and I'm totally obsessed with it. I think my hair actually looks better on the dry-shampoo days. I highly recommend it...it is a little pricey...but you have to remember you are saving regular shampoo and conditioner, using your hair dryer and straigtener less so less wear and tear, and probably even saving water since you don't have to wash and rinse your hair daily, oh...and my favorite...you get to sleep in because it doesn't take you nearly as long to get ready! Time is money!!
I have never used dry shampoo but would like to try some. My hair is not oily and recently after washing my hair daily for like 10 years I started going 3 days without washing! On the third day I would curl my hair that was straight and it looked phenominal! My hair stylist said my hair has never been healthier! A good hair cut goes a long way in not having to wash my hair every day...but I do want to try the dry shampoo, it looks awesome!

I went to get my hair colored a few days ago and my stylist went on and on about how I need to use better products on my hair (right now I use Herbal Essence and Tresseme (sp?). I wash my hair every day and blow dry and straighten it which I know is HORRIBLE for my hair. I don't necessarily have "greasy" or "oily" hair if I don't wash it I just don't feel as clean if I don't. ANYWAY...I was thinking if I could limit hair washing to every other day it would be a lot better for my hair. I have heard of dry shampoo but I don't know anyone who has used it and was just curious if anyone here ever has and what you think about it. I'm thinking about getting this kind at Sephora.
