So my mom, his mom, my sister, and hiis sister toook an overnight trip to new York and went to Klimfelds about a month ago, first four dresses that went with my vision, I liked but didn’t get that wedding feeling with, then myconsultant (who I loved btw) told me she had a curve ball, a beautiful alita graham dress that I fell for. After buying the dress and leaving, I started looking at this site and started gettingstress regret :(…. BUT my dress came in the mail Monday, it was a sample so I got it shipped right away. And I remembered why I loved it so much! So I was just wondering if everyone gets dess regret!

like you, i bought my dress over a year before my wedding and this gives us brides so much time to still “look” at what else is out there. let’s face it, wedding dresses are simply gorgeous so how can we resist? i loved looking at other dresses even though mine was sitting comfortably in my closet. a few times i saw ones that made my jaw drop but i stuck to my guns. i just remembered how i felt when i tried my dress on and any uncertainty disappeared.
my advise, stop looking or look only when you feel great about your dress choice.

I never had dress regret!! When I found the right one, I knew it was the right one and I never looked back:)

I never had dress regret but I STOPPED LOOKING after I bought my dress. That’s the key, I think.

I haven’t had dress regret. I had a few doubts before I chose my dress, but once I’d picked it that was it! I think this is what helped – I looked really carefully and thought hard about it before I chose my dress. I have looked at a few since, but I tried everything on I liked when I chose, so I know my dress is the right one !

I haven’t gone out looking, I would never do that because that’s just asking for trouble, I just love looking at the before and afters on here, but now that mine is home safe and sound I have no more regrets. I figure every time I feel the slightest doubt, I’ll just go to my parents and spend some time with the only dress that brought tears to my eyes!

I got my dress in early February and have yet to even wonder if I should have gotten something else. I still LOVE my dress. It comes in soon, I cannot wait to try it on again! Hoping my feelings don’t change at some point!

Nope, not me!!! I fell in love with my dress and once I bought it never looked at another dress!

No, I never had dress regret. I think it comes from people who insist that there’s always “something better” out there, and they refure to believe that what they already bought is equally beautiful. Buy a dress because you love it, STOP LOOKING, and move on with the rest of your planning.

Not completely. I tried on 1 dress after, and all I could think about was my original dress. Months after I would pass by a bridal store and go, “Oh man I wish I would have that dress.” Then I go home, sneak a peek at mine, and remember why I fell in love with it in the first place. It brings a smile to my face every time!

I purchased my dress last weekend and have had dress regret here and there but I’m hoping that it is because it will be another 5 months before I can see myself in it again. From the people that I have talked to, dress regret is pretty normal especially when you spend more on the dress than you wanted to. Just remember, you chose the dress for a reason! 🙂

Exactly what PPs said…once I bought my dress I stopped worrying about my dress. I knew I loved the dress that I bought and had no need to look for other ones, even though I’m sure there are other dresses out there that I would love, possibly even more than my current dress.
Wedding dresses are, for the most part, all gorgeous and very tempting — and the process of trying on and buying a wedding dress is a ton of fun, and something you will probably only do once. So when you’ve made the decision, I can understand the feeling of “is this absolutely the one.” But, for me, I didn’t even go near the temptation.
My fiance told me when I started wedding planning, “Make a decision, and then stick with that decision and never look back.” Very good advice…unless you have a money to blow, then I say buy three!

Nope, but I also stopped actively looking at dresses (though I still look at magazines and the Bee) but I just never even gave myself the chance. And every time I see my dress I fall in love with it again.

Nope- I tried on as many different styles as I could find. I settled on one and bought it. I still look at other dresses when I come across them on this site or magazines just so I can continually confirm that mine is the prettiest- and it is! =D

@Lt.Columbo: Totally agree! You gotta stop looking!
Before I bought my dress, I was consumed by looking at dresses online. Immediately after I bought it, I had a little regret because I fell in love with a ball gown that same day. My Bridesmaid who came with me also liked the ballgown better, but it was way out of budget and didn’t fit the type of wedding we were having, so I gave up. I love my dress, and I know I will be comfortable in it on my wedding day which is a huge plus.
