Does implantation bleeding actually exist?

MrsMcQN:  I had the tiniest amount of light brown spotting a few days before my period was due. I probably wouldn’t even have noticed it but I was obsessively checking since we were TTC! Best of luck to you- hopefully it’s your BFP!

I had implantation bleeding with two of my pregnancies. It was very, very light; lasted just about a day and happened about 5-6 days before what should have been my period, so it does exist. It certainly sounds like it might be implantation bleeding from what you described. I’ll cross my fingers for you! 🙂

Does it exist? Not for me or anyone close to me whose ever been pregnant. I think it’s one of those potentials that we hear about so often but that’s much less common than we think.

I had it – I was actually sure that I was about to start my period when I saw spotting Friday night (was expecting AF to start Saturday).  But instead, I had very light spotting for a couple days, and a positive pregnancy test instead of my period.  It was very scant and brown (just a tiny bit on the TP when I wiped, or a little mixed with CM when I checked internally).

From what I’ve read, implantation bleeding only presents in about 30% of women.  I was one of the women who had it.  I usually spot a tiny bit the night before my period.  On Monday, when AF was due, I had a single spot of blood on the TP when I wiped.  That, coupled with my normal pre-period symptoms, convinced me AF was on her way.  Tuesday I had a single spot on the TP when I wiped again.  Still no AF, but I FELT like AF was coming, so I didn’t think much of it, (we had been trying for over two years at this point, so negative tests were pretty painful to see).

Wednesday I had no AF and no more spotting, same with Thursday.  I planned to test Friday with FMU if AF still hadn’t shown, but on Thursday night we got home from a late movie, and I figured I had to pee anyway, why not test?  After trying for two years, I’d long since stopped using the fancy, expensive tests and switched to Wondfos and dollar store tests – both were positive within a minute.  I am now 15 weeks pregnant with our first.

I had it about three days before my period was due.  It was light enough that I thought it was early spotting for an early AF, but then it disappeared after that one bathroom visit.  Two days later I had a definite BFP.

I had it. I was sure my period was about to start, but then it stopped. I tested a few days later.

I had it for a few days…but it seemed a tiny bit weird, different than a period. The first was a super bright pink (kind of a nice color if that’s not too gross of me to say haha) and then a little more that was brownish. It was implantation and I got a BFP. Now I’ve had spotting twice while pregnant as well…and I told my doc about the first time, but not the second. Both times it was a tiny bit, that didn’t continue, just a bit when wiping once. Maybe some ladies are more sensitive?

I had some (I am assuming that is what it was) but mine was actually quite heavy.  I thought it was my period so that says it wasn’t just spotting.  And definitely red.  However, I had very light (3-4 day) periods so I wasn’t soaking through a pad/tampon an hour anything either.  Based on my estimated date of conception, it started about 9 DPO.  So I feel my experience is somewhat unusual.

I had it at 10dpo, 4 days before my pexpected period.  Although at the time I swore it was early AF spotting, so much so that I didn’t test until 19dpo!  It does exist.

I had it happen a few days before my period would have been due. It was a very tiny amount though, I definitely would not have confused it with my normal AF.
