I would like to know the answer also. Our wedding is early january and I was planning to send them out the last week of september as RSVP is the last week of november as the reception needs final head count 2nd week december!

@MrsEME:  I am sending mine out early because I am having a Destination Wedding.

@MrsEME:  I would personally feel like it was too early if I received one, but I’m the kind of person who puts things like that on display in my house until the event comes and goes…so with people like me there isn’t much chance of forgetting. But other people might forget the date if you send them out so early.

@MrsEME:  I still think you are fine.  Just mail them if it will make you feel better. 🙂

I think you will have a really hard time with RSVPs if you send them this early. People will put it aside to deal with later when they can know if they will come, and then they’ll forget about it.

my wedding is thanksgiving weekend and we already sent the invites 6 months ahead for out of town and international guests and the local guests we sent it last month!… they are to rsvp by end of october and we have gotten a few rsvp abcks already..

i think it should be fine….

you can always do an email reminder of the rsvp date if you are worried that they have forgotten..

however, i really doubt family members or trueee friendssssss owuld forgettt your weddinggg..

I sent my invites 8 weeks before. I have gotten an invite way early before and I always end up forgetting about it because it is so early. That is the only thing I would be concerned about.

@MrsEME:  I’m not sure if people will forget…and you’re right, if someone wants to be there, they won’t forget. I expect the same.

Sending early is fine – gives people more notice. Sending them late…not acceptable. I think you are fine.
