If you've got storage space go for it! Towels don't last forever so you'll have fresh, fluffy towels on hand to replace those that have been washed too many times and you won't have to be the one buying new ones.
Not at all, you can never have too many towels... esp. when you're living with someone else!
We registered for 3 sets at 2 different stores. I agree with the comments above, you always need towels, so no not obnoxious.
haha no, we did 5 sets of three different colors. We only got 2 to 3 sets in each color, which is plenty.
No. Their are two of you. One towel for each day of the week. I see 9 as completely ok.

I'm trying to decide how many sets of towels to get. I fell in love with a color combo of bone, sage green, and slate. If I was registering for only one color, I'd probably be fine with 6 or 8 but I want to be able to coordinate all of the colors. So would 3 sets of each of the 3 colors seem over the top?
