I’m ordering my invites, and just need to finalize the wording. FH and I aren’t “request the honor of your presence” kind of people, and we’re having a fun, semi laid back wedding. I saw another bee post this, and really liked it, but other bees posted negative thoughts. I’d like to know what you think.
what we have so far:
Together with their families
invite you to celebrate
as they exchange vows
and become husband and wife
should it say exchange vows of love instead of just vows?
does invite you to celebrate sound like its just a reception?
please let me know what you think, and any other ideas!

I think vows of love definitely has a better ring to it.
You could also use “Invite you to join them”?? since you said that it’s quite laid back/not so formal..

Sounds good to me – I wouldn’t think it’s just a reception. IMO “vows of love” is kinda over the top. I’d keep it as-is!

Vows of love seems a bit strange….I like it as is. The only thing I might change is say “invite you to celebrate with them” instead of just celebrate.
I get what you mean about not being “request your presence” kind of people…we weren’t either!

honestly, I would eliminate “vows” at all. It’s redundant. Of course you’re going to be exchanging vows since you’re becoming husband and wife! (Everyone knows that’s what happens at a wedding!) I would leave it at “…invite you to celebrate as they become husband and wife” or something like that.

@sofialovesmikey: I think it sounds PERFECT! Not too formal, not “BYO keg and wear jean cut offs”
