it's a great look- maybe if you just changed the color eyeshadow used! maybe a brown/beige mix? that way it's not exactly your everyday makeup, but you will look like you! the eyeliner is perfect! and if you do a more neutral color shadow, you can do a red lip.. i would do a little darker than cherry red- very vintage-ie! but i wouldn't do a red lip with the blue eye shadow (might look a little too patriotic ;) Your dress is gorgeous by the way! very flattering on you!
I agree with NJForever, I would do a softer eye with a red lip. Keep the liner, but tone down the shadow. You have gorgeous eyes, btw. You're going to look so pretty! Your dress is just lovely.
@NJForever: Thanks! And it's not blue eyeshadow, I have a light pink on, then a darker grey shadow in the crease. I either do that, a more neutral eyeshadow, or I make it all around darker, depending on my outfit. I know it's hard to tell because of my crappy webcam =/ And I've thought about a red lip, but it doesn't look right on me, at least I dont think so, I think rose colors look better on me personally. I've tried red, but I want to go more romantic (which is what I should have said in my post :P ) Thanks for the ideas though! I plan on playing around with shadows here and there and taking good pictures to compare them, to see what I like best.
@Ms. Peach: awe thanks :) I don't think I plan on doing a red lip though, because I dont like it on me, and I feel like it clashes with our colors (ivory, black and gold). I want something more soft and romantic, but I'm not sure, I guess it might be because I haven't picked the right color red yet, so I should go to a makup counter and try some out before kicking that idea to the curb completely. :P thanks for the ideas!
Check out some photos of Audrey Hepburn (a la Breakfast at Tiffany's or Funny Face). It looks like you have similar bone structure and skin tone. I'm jealous
.

@heyitssamyrae: Sorry, the pic. made it look like blue eyeshadow! I totally get not doing a red lip- I am NOT one of those girls that can rock that :( What about a more dramatic eye and a nude lip? Nude is SO in right now. If you want to experiment with it, I just bought an AWESOME lip gloss from Walgreens, the brand is "Yes to Carrots" it's 95% organic and the color is "playful nude". It might be fun just to play around with it? And if nothing else- you get a great new lipgloss out of it :) I found it on the face wash aisle next to the Burt's Bees products. The product looks like this: http://www.yestocarrots.com/product/lip-glosses?product_id=LIPGLOSSES but I don't think it was almost $7 at Walgreens, I thought I got mine for more around $4. Good luck!
I would do a softer color eyeshadow...like tans and ivories, with a thick layer of eyeliner on the top lid only. Then a dramatic red lip!!
Here are some pictures from a post I started a while back...

By the way, your dress is stunning and it looks great on you! :)
@NJForever: it's alright! the picture quality isn't the best lol And yeah, ed lipstick is a no go, and I feel like it ages me and I look like a skinny old woman when I wear it. ick. >.< but I do plan on playing around with my makeup and posting pictures soon :) I'll probably end up going with a nuder lip since I never wear anything but chapstick on them anyway .lol
@Topolino: thanks! :) thanks for the link too!
I love the finger wave idea. Very 30's/40's like your dress. I am also doing make up like yours with victory curls and a big fascinator.
I think that soft browns and pinks would look fabulous as eyeshadow, with brown eyeliner and mascara, and maybe a bold red lipstick?
Your dress is gorgeous FYI!
@efitzger: Is that you in the picture? Either way, I do love it, and the idea of the hair and what not! I'm letting my hair grow a bit, so depending on the lenght, is how I will style it for the wedding. I love my eyeliner though and I can't see NOT wearing that day! lol
@tee22: I like the eyeshadow idea, but no red lios for me, I think I'll go more rosy pink or mauve. And thanks :D I can't wait to wear it! ahhhh! :)
with that gown a soft makeup look would do wonders for you.. it would bring out the dresses beauty. and show a more delicate side.. I dont agree with such a big wing i think less is more .. a nice eyeliner would be key

Hi bees,
I just purchased my wedding gown and it's kind of vintage looking with lace, here is a picture:
Anyway, I normally do my own makeup with winged eyes, but I'm not quite sure of how I'm going to do my hair or my makeup for the wedding. I don't know what colors to go with, and if I should do my normal everyday makeup, or soften it a bit more. Here is my everyday makeup:
So, I love my everyday makeup look and I think I may stick to it, but does anyone have any thoughts on vintage type makeup or pictures? I would just like some opinions and insight, maybe some ideas as well for what lip colors I should consider, etc. I love my normal everyday thick winged liner because it's ME, and I'm going to add fake lashes as well. Tell me what you think! :)
