i think you will be fine... my dress is ivory and my FI will be in a black tux, with touches of claret.. the only thing claret on my will be my slip which will be hidden most of the time!
I thinkit'd it's just the two of you it will look fine. The bride and groom don't have to match, it's more the norm that the bridal party matches.
Nope you guys don't have to match - but I do think it would be cute if you add the colors he is wearing to either your bouquet or in your hair (like a facinator or clip.)
Thanks for the advice. I was worried that I was going to have to change my sash and I was very happy with the champagne. It is his wedding as well and would like for him to add some personalization of his own.

I'm pretty new to all the wedding stuff. My fiance and I are doing a small destination wedding in Scotland with just the 2 of us. I have an ivory with white lace dress and a champagne sash. He is not to keen on wearing champagne. He is Irish and wants to wear Ireland's national tartan for a tie. Can we pull this off as long as I put those colors in my bouquet? Or will it just look mismatched?
