hit up every single store until you are satisfied (thats what i intend to do). there's no rule saying it has to come from the same store..unless you go a custom route.
Mine are from different stores because nothing at the store that sold my engagement ring fit against it properly! How about a style like this for your ring?

Mine are from different stores. We found the exact engagement ring I wanted at one store, but honestly, I don't like their return policy, or their extended service plan. So, we went to another store for my wedding ring, and found the perfect one.
One thing to consider, though, if you get your rings at different stores and get them soldered together, you may void your service plan on one of the rings. A lot of jewelry stores will do that if you have work done at another store saying they can't guarantee work done somewhere else. So make sure you get any work done at the place where you bought the most expensive ring... Either that or just plan on paying for any work you have to have done.
But honestly, if you have quality rings, you shouldn't need a lot of work done on your rings anyway. So it shouldn't be a huge issue. Just make sure your rings are covered on your home owner's policy or rental policy.
Nothing wrong with buying your rings from different places. Give blue nile a shot. I think this is like your e-ring band.

Mine aren't. DH and I were in school a state away when he bought my e-ring. We now live and work 6 hours from that jewelry store (not a chain) and got my wedding band from a chain store at a mall. I wanted to be able to get it easily and quickly fixed/replated/cleaned or we could have gone back to the e-ring store and bought my band as well.
@o0olibelulao0o: We got our wedding bands from a different store than where my husband had my ring made. I have a friend who works for a local jewelry store. They were having their bi-annual wedding band trunk show. It gave my husband an opportunity to try on a lot of different wedding band styles to see what suit him. We found a comfort fit wedding band that looked alot like my engagement ring band. The store had a great sale and price for our rings, so we went for it. We've recommended the sale to a lot of friends too because it's so awesome.
Here's what my store mismatched rings look like.

I say go wherever has the band that fits your need. There aren't any rules about buying the rings at the same store. We're getting ours from the same store, but our bands are a really basic design and the store had really great prices and a totally awesome staff!
mine are from the same store but its not a matching set - i have a cushion halo too and i can see a slight difference in color since they aren't made to match but i dont think anyone else can tell. the matching band to mine was 1200 for the eternity 800 for half - that was way out of our price range so we found somithing similar that matches for around 400.
I'd go to another store! I'm a finicky shopper... I know what I want (usually), and if I can't find exactly that, I'm not gonna sell myself short and settle for something that's not perfect, I'll keep on looking until I find what I want.
Your ring is BEAUTIFUL! I'm surprised they said it should be worn alone. Well, I'm not really surprised because it's freakin' gorg, but I'd also want a wedding band! More bling, baby!
Go to other stores, for sure, and get what you want
Thanks for all the suggestions!
A regular band will sit under my ring just fine, so I don't need a curved one, but I wouldn't mind looking into it just incase I like that look better than a straight band.
And I don't want them soldered together, I'd like the option to wear them separately if I ever felt inclined, so I don't think warrantee stuff would be affected.
I'm glad to hear that a lot of people get rings from different stores!
Mine are from different places.

@o0olibelulao0o: Well, if soldering them isn't something you're considering then the warranty isn't an issue at all! I say go wherever you can find something beautiful that you love to go with you ring. After all, that's what's most important!
You really dont have to get them from the same store, even if you are trying to make as good a match as possible, it can be done from different places.
My E ring was bought online and my wedding ring was bought from the local jewellers, and i think they are a pretty good match.
I like things that don't match. :) If that were my ring, I would pair it with something quite thin and delicate, and understated, but that can hold it's own. You want it to be obvious that you have a wedding band but not take away from your gorgeous ering, right? So I would do a rose gold/pink diamond channel set band, with really thin walls. you could use sapphire instead if the pink melee was out if budget. Or I would also consider just a plain, highly polished dome band. Your ring has 3 sided pave right? So you don't want anything tht will cause damage.
Mine aren't from the same place at all, and they don't match!
If you're looking to have a band that matches the band of your engagement ring, shop around! If nothing else, you can probably find a jewler who would make one for you.
My jeweler told me the same thing, that mine is a statement ring and I could wear it alone. She said I might have trouble finding something to fit it and would maybe need to get one custom made. Then we got looking through the case and they had one that was already my size, fit up against it perfectly, and has the same width band. It doesn't match at all, my e-ring has milgrain detail and is very vintage looking, yet I think the band looks great with it. If I didn't find one there though, I'd have kept looking other places until I found the perfect one.

@o0olibelulao0o: Mine was from the same store, but only because we got it as a set.

So, I have a gorgeous cushion cut halo ring and I went to the store we got it at to see what wedding bands I liked with it (I'm picky so we wanted to start early!) and I tried on pretty much every ring in the store and didn't like the way any of them looked with my ring... They were saying how my ring was meant to be a "statement" ring and be worn alone.
So my question is, what if I look at other stores and find something I like, is it bad if my rings aren't from the same stores?
Here's my ring: (suggestions would be appreciated)
In this one you can see the band really well... apparently the store doesn't have any bands set like this:
Thoughts, suggestions, pictures??
ETA: I don't need them to match, but if they don't match I would like them to be really different, like a unique shape or something... I found one that I liked the look of, but it was just too thin next to my band. Here it is:
