i like the ensembles! and your venue looks very nice. I think you shouldn't say anything at all! just make sure your invitation reflects the level of formality you're looking for. Don't do a super fancy victorian font and triple envelopes - try something a little more pared down and i think that the vibe will come through.
I think with your rustic-looking venue your fi would look just great in the outfit you have pictured without a jacket on!
Yeah I'm still stuck on the invites. Either they look too cute/fun/whatever like our save-the-dates or they look too formal with scripty fonts and stuff----UGH.
Your dress, his suit, and the venue look fabulous. Miss Veggie's fiance will be wearing a vest, and the photos she posted look great.
What about cocktail attire? Less formal than semi-formal, but women will (mostly) wear dresses, and men will wear suits. Check out this page for party definitions (Formal, informal, casual...)

I've had a hard time trying to describe to people the kind of wedding my FI and I want. We didn't want formal exactly, but we didn't want people showing up in jeans either. I hate to say casual because I think people will assume casual means jeans please and, well, I want people to be a little more than that---so semi-casual? I don't know.
We wanted a lodge looking place here in Colorado and found it (great price!) and it looks like this...

and I'm wearing this, which is a simple dress but I love. Forget the wrinkles, it just came in that day and hasn't been steamed:
but I wonder if my FI will look too casual without a suit. Part of me says no and the other part of me wonders if it just won't go right....what do you think? We plan for him to wear this look...
Do you think my FI should wear a jacket or would he be alright not? He really doesn't want to and I don't want him to wear something he doesn't really want to wear, besides, I think he'll look pretty darn hot in the outfit sported above.
