Yes, it matches. To tie them together even more, use one of the darkest couch cushions on the chair.
I like changing those red cushions into cream better, but I still think they will look nice together. You just have to keep the theme of the room a little modern to pull it off in my opinion. 🙂 I like the chair though!
Thanks, we hda a hell of a time finding something in our budget, comfy, and the color and size we are needing. I’m pretty sure we’ll upholster them, but we’ll see. I was kind of going more for a country cottage theme, rather than modern, but we’ll see what I end up with, haha.
Sort of. The sectional is much more contemporary with the low back and square edges. The chair is more traditional with the rounded padding, higher arm rests and high back. That being said, I think you could pull it off with the cream cushions. I wouldn’t go uber contemporary with your coffee table though.
I totally see your point of view. Our coffee table is very traditional, so that may play the couch down a little. Meanwhile, I think the cushions being reupholstered will definitely make the couch match more with the chair. Thanks for your opinion!
I’m thinking I liked the night crews votes better! haha
Yes, def matches! But agree, loose the redish/orane pillows – and either cream or a more muted gold would work.
Also, I love love love the look of mixing contemporary and traditional; I think it represents a wide design palette.
Also, with those chairs and the sectional, you could still have a country feel – if you put in a rug, choose something light in color w/ a natural texture. Keep the walls light & fresh too & add rustic/country accents. Just because you have a large peice of brown furniture doesn’t mean your room can’t have a light modern yet country feel.
Thanks! I am actually in the process of sanding our living room cofee table, to give it a more rustic look and feel. Also our carpet, is more of a brown muted with a grey undetone. It’s shag, we chose dark because our son is 18 months, and its a pretty forgiving color. Other then that, our walls are a light color, our fireplace is white, and we’re trying to add country accents, and light colors for wall treatments. I appreciate your input, thanks.
I think you can totally pull it off. I agree with pulling it all together with the throw pillows. I would definitely get rid of the orange/red ones and substitute them for something else. As long as it all flows nicely with the rest of your furniture then I think this will look really nice 🙂
