So, I have a wedding gown and a veil, and I am very satisfied with them.
But I also bought a second dress -kind of an after-party dress- which is much more comfy and I will use it in the photo shoots, too. Because the second dress is in a darker cream color compared to my actual gown, I want a different veil to wear with it. A short veil which will be equally comfortable.
Here is the dress:
and I bought a swiss dotted fabric in the same color, my inspiration being this veil from BHLDN:
Do you think they are of too different styles to match, or are they ok? And here they are together; sorry about the quality but it may still give you an idea:
Please share your opinions with me, I am almost as excited about this as my actual gown! Thanks 🙂

@Birisi: First things first: your dress is GORGEOUS!! I love it. I do feel like the veil is going to be too much for your dress, though, but boy do I love that swiss dot pattern. How would you feel about getting the veil altered to be shorter?

@pengoala: Thanks, so happy to hear that! 🙂 I want the veil to be short, like the one in the second pic. Infact I will shorten it myself if I decide to wear it. I love the swiss dot pattern, too, and my dear late mother’s wedding gown was a swiss dotted one, so I think it would be meaningful. But then again, I may wear this dress on its own without a veil, too. I’m totally undecided. 🙂

@Birisi: Everything is lovely and shortening it is a fabulous idea.

@Birisi: Either way, I know you’ll look beautiful! 🙂

@Birisi: i think if you shorten it like that it will go great and not be to much 😀 your gonna look so pretty love the look

God, I love your dress. But I wouldn’t choose dotted for the veil. Maybe a nice birdcage veil or perhaps a lace mantilla?

I love it! Super cute if you keep it short. The closer the fabrics are together the more it says “clash” vs. the farther apart they are the more it says “coordinate”, to my eye.

@Birisi: I think the two fabrics are too different. I like them both, but I’m not 100% sure if they’ll go together.

What about something like this? You could prob DIY it easily:

Not gonna sugarcoat it. They do NOT belong together.
That older dress for the reception cries out for a simple, yet elegant, flower headpiece, not as huge as some of these fascinators I have seen, but on the same order. No veil, just simple flower piece and dance your butt off til the sun rises!
