Hello Bees! I’ve really enjoyed reading everyone else’s posts so I though I’d ask for some advice of my own. I’m having difficulty finding THE dress and have tried on close to 30 dresses 🙁 I never thought I’d be a “bridezilla” until this whole dress thing…
My dress “wish list” include the following:
-lace (ideally the entire dress will be lace)
-dramatic fit n flare/mermaid silouette
-open back (deep v or keyhole)
-sleeves (cap or longer – preferably 3/4, but I’m open to shorter or longer!)
Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what I’m looking for:

What about putting crinoline or a hoop skirt under those dresses with a slimmer flare?

I tried one two dresses, both by Pronovias I think, that fit that description and a few more somewhere else, but I don’t remember the designer, perhaps Demetrios?
One of them was Pronovias Higuera (though just straps, not cap sleeves).

Here are some you could consider and find out if there is a way to modify it to be what you want.
All from Allure Bridals :
Any of those dresses you can add a mermaid crinolin to add some extra fluff at the bottom and enhance the silhouette. I’m an Allure bride, and while mind doesn’t have the back you want, I did add one during the shopping process to see how it would look and it was beautiful.

@Tangled: It’s the Astoria by WTOO gown that sweetheart03 mentioned

Thank you for the advice! I’ve actually tried on the first two Allure gowns posted and liked aspects of both! I adore the long sleeves on the first dress, but the back makes it feel a little matronly (in my opinion), but is a really beautiful dress. I’m actually considering speaking with a seamstress to see if there’s any way that the back can be altered. Also, I thought the second Allure dress was THE dress for a short period of time, but now I’m second guessing it 🙁 While I also think it’s a beautiful dress, I’m not in love with the lace pattern and when I tried adding a puffier slip, I thought it looked kind of awkward. I haven’t tried on the third Allure dress, but it seems to be pretty close to what I’m looking for! I have to track it down!
In regards to the silouette, I’ve tried adding fuller skirts to give the dress a little more volume, but I wasn’t super pleased with the results. I once tried on a lace dress with a dropped waist and fit n flare silouette that was PERFECT, but the top wasn’t for me 🙁 It was also $2,000 over my budget…
Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance Bees! You’ve all been so helpful 🙂
