So the BF and I went out to eat and eventually the conversation turned to how a few people we know are getting married and how we both had gotten a bit of nagging about when we might get engaged. His family keeps asking and everyone BUT my family has asked me about it.We have talked about getting married (he actually brought it up first) but always in a really vague sort of way. One couple we know is getting married after dating for about this months. We were discussing how these people are crazy when I sort of blurted out “So when would you start thinking about us getting married?”
I’m afriad I caught him off gaurd. Actually I caught myself off gaurd as well. His responce was “Us!? Well originally I was thinking innthe next year or so. But we should wait until you finish school.”
That means another 3 years at least. I told him I wasn’t in any rush and actually wanted a long engagement. Which is sort of true, I’m not in a huge hurry to get married. But the part about the long engagement was me trying to say I had no problem getting engaged while still in school and waiting until I graduate to marry, but I sort of lost courage midway.
I don’ t really know if this really counts as a timeline or not but it made me feel good, like we’re the same page. But I worry this might count as pressuring him. I dunno.
