Yes, I considered doing that with my cookie table. I don't think there is a need for an additional favor. But we decided to go with the traditional 5 jordan almonds wrapped in tulle instead of boxes for the cookies.
However, the boxes and labels might cost as much as jordan almonds or some other small favor, so be careful that your money-saving plan doesn't turn into spending more money :)
@Jacqi- Thanks, I just thought of this and didn't know if it made sense. There is actually a place near my house that sells really inexpensive clear containers and I could order the pretty tiffany blue and chocolate labels to put on.
That's an awesome favor!
When we were researching boxes and containers for our wedding, we found this site to have really competitive prices (not sure if they'll have what you're looking for, though):
http://www.papermart.com/Home.aspx
You could use any neutral color and use the blue and brown labels you talked about before :)
@MissChapstick- Thanks for the link!
@EmeraldR- That's what I figured, I hate having to pay for my drinks at someone else's wedding. But I still would like the guests to feel as though they got something.
Befor eyou were planning your own wedding, how much attention did you pay to the favors? When we went back and thought about the weddings we had attended, nothing really stuck out in our minds. And honestly, I would probably rather take a few great baked goods home than m&ms or a picture frame. To each his own, but I'm a pastry kind of girl :)
Also - I've ordered from Papermart before and their customer service is great! Another alternative might be if there is a baking/Singer/Restaurant Supply store near you where you could likely purchase the boxes very cheaply!
@pvaulter781- There are so many things about weddings I had never given much thought to before the wedding. But thinking about it I would rather be taking care of as a guest and have all my drinks covered and have a delicious canoli or eclair on the ride home. That's great to know about the Papermart.

So as everything is coming together for the wedding, money seems to be getting tighter and tighter. I'm not sure if we will have money for favors at the wedding(which I am sort of bymmed about) but it's either cut out the favors or the money for the open bar. But since I am Italian and food is a very important element of our wedding, we are having sweet table with all italian pasteries. They are delicious and are being brought in from an outside bakery.
Do you think I can put boxes on the dessert table with cute labels with our name, date, etc. and say something like "Thank you for sharing our special day" on them? Can these work as favors? I have seen plenty of candy tables that people do instead of favors, so does it make sense to do this with a dessert table?
If so does anything know where I can buy 225 boxes that would fit deserts. Our colors are Tiffany Blue and Chocolate.
