The florist I had a consultation with finally got back to me with her quote, but it seems pretty high to me. Does $440 sound reasonable for 2 bouquets, a corsage, and 4 boutonnieres?
This is the breakdown she gave me:
-Bridal Bouquet; double lisianthus, spray roses, carnations, garden roses, david austin roses, double wrapped in soft white tulle and satin; flag charms attached $169.00
-Maid of Honor: smaller version of brides bouquet in soft pinks and greens, off white satin wrap $69.00
-1 pinned corsage of lisianthus, garden rose, david austin rose; lace ribbon $24.50
-4 boutonnieres: double lisanthius with greenery; wrapped in off white satin 11.75/each $47.00

Sounds close to mine. My bouquet was $175. Bridesmaids bouquets $54 each. Pinned corsages $28 each. Boutonnieres $14 each. For my area that was a really reasonable price.

You have to remember that floristry is an expensive business to be in as the flowers are kept in mint condition with preservation techniques and lots of refridgeration. Plus u pay for what u get and a cheap florist will not give you top quality flowers.

@MardiGrasMambo: WTF?!?! very high….. what is she smoking lol

@MardiGrasMambo: That’s actually on the lower end of most of the quotes I’ve received/seen. I think if you searched for anything cheaper, you might end up with lesser quality flowers like a PP mentioned, or even worse, they’ll show up with different, cheaper flowers and tell you that they had to substitute them.

@MardiGrasMambo: these are the prices where i live
its between 10 and 13 for the Boutonniere
Soft Lavender Corsage 24.99
Blue hydrangea, white callas and roses. 77.95
and then my girls are going to cost about 30 to 40 each
but they said with so many bouques they will throw in some of the guys Boutonniere for us for free.

That seems like a great price!
You have to remember that you’re essentially paying per stem and paying a certain percentage for her work.

The prices don’t seem too high to me except the bouts. $47 EACH?! That’s nuts.
ETA: I misread the bout price. It all looks reasonable to me!

That seems normal
(Which is why I did my own! All flowers for about $550. And we had a ton)

@Beckster329: $47.00 is the total for all the bouts. $11.75 is the price of each.

@LindsayMaree: I just realized this! Thanks for clarifying 🙂 I didn’t read carefully enough.

That sounds like what I was quoted for a specialty florist. The grocery store was cheaper 🙂

@HisNightOwl2014: Yeah, but you live in the middle of nowhere and the OP lives in a major city. It makes a big difference.
OP: I think that looks right on par with what you’d get charged on average!

@MardiGrasMambo: It does seem a little high to me, but maybe that’s due to the type of flowers you’re using? Mine are just simple calla lilies. I am going with Bee’s in Metairie. Here’s what I’m getting:
1 bridal bouquet, white calla lilies $108
6 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 white callas apiece $230.40
1 flowergirl ball of white roses $56.62
1 flowergirl headwreath of roses $24.90
1 groom’s boutonniere $6.30
12 other boutonnieres $75.60
4 corsages $99.60
and this comes with a free toss bouquet.
Oh, and there’s a $50 setup fee.
