- Wedding: Old Victorian B&B/Restaurant & Gardens
SO here is the thing: We had a videography couple all lined up and then……our date changed. They were not available anymore. Boo.
I started my search all over again…and I was actually contacted by a woman from CooperStreet Productions.
Basically they find a videographer local to where we are getting married and hire them to shoot the raw footage of everything. They sends it over to CooperStreet Productions and Cooperstreet creates the final video. I have asked that they contact me with the videopgraphers info etc so I can contact them and meet up with them prior to the wedding ( not an unusual request for someone I have not hired myself and is doing something QUITE important!) but I havent heard from them in a while now :/ I dont want to be paranoid, but seriously I dont want this screwed up… We are getting married August 9, am I getting ahead of myself and should wait a bit more before I worry? I just dont want them to say they cant find anyone to do it….or heaven forbid, I dont like the person they hire?
What should I do?

Hmm, this does sound like a weird arrangement. I’ve never heard of any professional videographer giving their raw footage to another production house to edit. Why can’t the person who’s shooting the video edit it for you? I would probably look for a different vendor.

Have you found any reviews on them? If not, I would be a little weary to use them as well.

twinter91: Hmm I guess that concept isn’t totally bizarre but I personally think its super unprofessional not to get back to potential clients in a reasonable time frame and I definitely judge businesses who are slack, it really puts me off!
When deciding on our videographer I read a tonne of independant reviews, watched lots of examples of their work, looked all through their facebook page etc. til I found one I loved.
I don’t think you’re being paranoid about wanting to get this sorted either, our wedding is next March and i’ve already booked our videographer! I figure you can never be too organised, and I didn’t want to risk all the good people being booked up!
