Sounds like both outfits will be fine. If you are concerned about your FI's outfit, maybe he could start out in full length khakis and take the shorts with him to change into.

I think that if the shorts are not cargo style khakis they will look fine and be wedding appropriate for this type of wedding. Otherwise I might have him go for something slightly more formal.
I think it will be fine my father in law wore shorts and a beach shirt to my formal wedding... So I think he will be fine.

My uncle is getting married tomorrow and they've told me it's going to be a very causal wedding. It's going to be on the property of some friend's apple orchard, they will have a pig roast, and it's a luau. My grandma (mother of the groom) is wearing capris and my soon-to-be-aunt is changing after the ceremony. (though I'm not sure what she's going to be wearing at first).
So, I'm thinking of wearing a blue sundress (navy with some straps and cream trimming) and some wedge sandals. And I was thinking FI could wear some beige shorts and a polo.
It's supposed to be in the 90s. I don't do well in heat. It's going to be casual. I'm not so worried about the sundress as FI's outfit. Does it sound ok?
