Does your FI spend too much time playing video games?

A friend complained to me today because her fiance spends too much time playing video games. My fiance likes to play them, but limits his playing time mostly to when I'm on the computer. It really never is an issue (though my computer time sometimes is!) But my sister's boyfriend will play video games until 4am or later...which would not fly with me.

Does your fiance spend too much time playing video games? How do you handle it?

I wish I could play video games!  It's not really an option, cuz I used to game only on weekends... which is now "couple time".

My husband used to play video games and computer games a lot.  I was kinda annoyed by how much time he spent playing... until I started playing with him!  Now we mostly game together, and if we occasionally stay up to 4 am, it's no big deal.  :)

i dated a guy who was obsessed with video games and played 8 hours straight.  i would leave for work at 6am and come home at 3pm, and find him still in the same spot.  i told myself i wouldn't date another guy who played VG.  i am proud to say my FI hates video games!

My fiance isn't really into video games. He's more into movies, music, and sports.

Hehehe Mr peng just discovered you can download old nintendo games onto his Wii so he plays an hour or so every night... Super Mario Bros 3 and that Mike Tyson Knockout game (or whatever it's called now... they lost the tyson rights so it's called somethign else) honestly I'd rather hear the cute nintendo sounds than listen to sports (OMG did anyone watch that soccer tourney that was going on, Fifa championship or whatever in south africa where the fans were blaring those HORRIBLE kazoos or whatever they were... it was the worst noice in the world!!!) I'll take hours of nintendo over random sports any day!

Hubby likes video games, but he's getting better. He doesn't stay up really late to play them, which I'm glad. When I first moved in he'd sometimes stay up to play, but I wasn't really happy with that and now just goes to sleep with me unless his sister is home (they play wii together, but only until about 12 or so at the latest, as far as I know). Before I lived here he'd stay up all night playing if he didn't have to get up in the morning, but it was a long distance relationship so it didn't really affect anything. to be fair, he tends to enjoy video games more when i play with him, but I just can take only so much of it at a time... plus, it ends up making us fight... but at least it doesnt drag over into our real life (like once the game is closed we're fine and not fighting).

Fiance used to play for hours... one time he hung up on me when i was having a minicrisis because he was doing a "raid"... i was p.o.'d for days!  he knows now to never hang up on me for a game.  He's gotten over the gaming though... and it's such a big relief for me.
