Hi Hive!
I love weddingbee, but the Mr. sometimes doesn't like the amount of time that I spend on here. He has a point - it's definitely a good thing to be spending time with your fiance!
I still love the 'bee though! I love chatting & discussing wedding ideas with all of you! :)
How does your fiance react to your involvement on weddingbee?
(off now to spend some quality time with Mr. Bear Cub! ;) )
At first Mr.D was supportive, then he said I spent too much time on WB and now? now he loves WB! He thought it was hilarious when I did BeeTV, he called eeryone "bee people" :)
My FI doesn't ever go on WB, but he doesn't mind that I do! He's always working on his college football blog at night, so I have plenty of time to spend on here without him getting impatient.
Mr. Peng roves weddingbee, we talk about it all the time :) He bugged me forever as to why we didn't have a registry finder, because it's the only thing he would REALLY use on a wedding website, and now we have one so I like to tell him that we put that there for him (note: I didn't have anything to do with the registry finder haha). So he feels really involved with WB now. SHHHHHH....
My FI likes it a lot... but she says we talk about it too much.
Haha, Mr. Bee. Glad she likes it!!
Mr. MJ likes it OK. He skims the posts i think - I know he does read mine and many of the comments readers post though, and sometimes he'll read board topics and we'll discuss them. So yeah, I'd say he likes it alright, but it's not like it's in his rss or anything.
Mr. Bunny is happy that it makes me happy, but isn't thrilled with the amount of time I spend in front of my laptop at times.
Mr. Beagle is glad it makes me happy, but would prefer that I not spend so much time on it!
He is kinda like "whatever" but sometimes I ready posts outloud to him and he never says he doesn't care. He likes the ideas I find on here (including inspiration for our Save the Dates and cake buffet!) He thinks its nuts I can sit on the computer reading posts but it is because he is not part of a message board community. (I have been in the past but this is the longest "run")
ditto GaBGal....but I do think he is secretly happy that he can work on his laptop right next to me and I'm not blabbling his ear off...lol
haha Mr. Bee! too funny :)
I'm glad she likes it so much! :)
Mr. Star is actually the one who encouraged me to apply to be a blogger because he knew how much I loved WB! He reads WB every day himself now and sometimes tells me when my stuff has been posted before I've seen it, which I think is cute.
I'm pretty sure Mr. M has never been on WB ever. He's on ESPN.com and email and that's about the extent of his internet usage.
Mr. Peep was super happy that I had an outlet for the wedding. Plus, he was in class four nights a week so it worked out perfectly. But yes, when he is home and I am on the comupter he gets antzy because he wants more attention!!
Mr. Bee, you called Mrs. Bee your FI. That bugs me. She is your wife, yo.
Fiance says "They seem like a good group of people from what I can tell. " He also says that he appreciates that there is no interpersonal drama here (unlike some other places on the web).
My hunk says that it is a "cult"
You girls need to quit brainwashing me about dresses, cakes, and if I am going to wear spanx or not!!! I love the Bee, but I know I would never see my FI on here.
Nope, he finds it a waste of time.... but because Im interested in it... he leaves it at that.
Hes not much of a web person, so chatting, boards and blogging is 'HUH' for him.
Mr Frenchie likes that I blog for WB and he's really proud of me, but I don't think he has ever looked at the website. That is why on my dress posts I always say something like "if you decided to check out what this weddingbee thing is all about..." He has no clue.
I think he's indifferent towards it... but I know he enjoys some of the stories I tell him from the WB. ;)
Mine is glad I have somewhere to obsess - as involved as he is he's not nearly as into the nitty-gritty details as I am. He's glad I can come here and he can watch TV is peace every now and again
I think FI is okay with WB, as long as I keep it to myself. He will occasionally look at something I want to show him, but for the most part, he doesn't want to see it or talk about anything wedding related. He has financial anxiety about everything wedding-related.
It's either that, or the fact that his computer crashed and when I'm on WB, that means he can't use my computer to look at Craigslist cars or stupid YouTube videos all day long.
Mine is glad I have somewhere to turn go bounce ideas and gain ideas from so that every little detailed isn't being bounced off him. He's taken a look at some posts and I usually see him reading over my shoulder when he's sitting next to me. I think he loves how much I love it and the sense of community that it is for me.
FI is pretty apathetic- he doesn't mind that I come on here at all. I haven't caught him looking at the site on his own yet...but I bet once I'm finished with school and we have time to devote to wedding planning, I can push him a bit. ;)
He does have a knack of knowing when I'm on WB though...the monitor will be facing away from him and he'll just glance at me and ask how the bees are doing. Haha! Apparently I have a certain delirious OCD glow about me when I come on here...
He knows I really like it, but he's never been on it (I think...you never know!). Whenever I say I'm researching wedding stuff, he says, "On that Bee thing?" I'm pretty impressed that he knows half of the website name!
My fiance doesn't really mind it. Of course, I'm unemployed, so I spend most of my time one here during the day while he is at work. I'll get on here occasionally in the evenings if he's on his computer or if he's watching something I'm not into.
Facebook, on the other hand, he hates. Even though he's on facebook!
He knows all about it but has never been on it to my knowledge. Whenever I prompt him for advice on topics he is like was does that bee blog say.
I always tell my fiance when we don't know what to do about something lets ask the beehives! He laughs and loves to hear the feedback. All the feedback has been very helpful in our wedding planning! You ladies ROCK!
The Mister secretly scans WB. He says it is just because he doesn't get the hype. We have watched Bee TV together. haha!
I have to say, my amount of time on the site has really dropped since my wedding has gotten freakishly close. I am less interested in what I "could have done" because the stress of "what needs to be done" is too great!
LOL - My FI doesn't know about WB...it's my secret addiction..he does know that I'm on another wedding forum..and he JOINED! So now I have found a new "secret" hide-out for all my wedding related talk!
My husband says he's glad that I can help other people with their wedding planning because I'm so good at it, but he wishes I would use WB to start my own coordinating/planning business. Oh, and he also appreciates the help and support from one particular bee who has hooked me up with a local professional in my future job field. ![]()
Edit: This is not an exact quote, but a paraphrase from the text I just sent him!
My FI likes it. He is always saying "oh ask your bees" or making some reference into a Bee reference (ie. what was buzzying today?). And I always send him links to interesting threads so he is sorta forced to read it :)
Mr. E knows that I am a Weddingbee-addict for life and has always been super supportive!
Even though the day I got accepted as a WB blogger and was doing a happy dance, he had no idea what the heck I was talking about... but he sure knows now. He is a good sport - I think it helped him to meet some of the other Bees last year when we went to NYC - it made WB more "real" haha.
Hm, I don't think my FH really knows about it, but I'm sure he would be relieved to know that if it weren't for WeddingBee, I'd be bugging him about wedding-related stuff all the time!
LOL - I must add an update to my original post - I was on the computer yesterday while FH was sitting beside me, watching TV. Out of nowhere, he says "Are you on Weddingbee?" I guess he *does* know about it.
He loves it so much, he's hoping to apply to become a Bee when our time comes around!
FI calls it my "wedding support group"...he's like, "I think that's the right thing to call it."
My FI is into lots of Internet-type-things, and he posts on several different (manly, geeky) forums, so he is excited that now I have an Internet-based hobby too. He also likes that WB is my wedding outlet, so I'm not yammering to him all day about decor ideas and whatnot.
