okqueenbee's thread makes me smile (and elicited a rather passionate "Why are girls so embarrassed about farting? I wish you would fart around me!" from J), so I thought we needed a companion poll.

    ;)

If you haven't voted on the original, be sure to do so... I'd love to see how these answers will compare, haha. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/do-you-fart-in-front-of-your-hubby-or-so

my husband was worried about this when I first moved in. He was worried he wouldn't be able to fart freely anymore. It took him all of about a week to be 100% comfortable farting in front of me though. The weird thing is he is perfectly open about TALKING about his bodily functions (most of which are definitely TMI), so I have no idea why he was concerned about it lol

No, he really never has.  We're not real "bodily function" kind of people.  I don't mean we don't do that stuff, but we just don't really do it in front of one another, if we can help it.

Yes, all the time. He evens feel comfortable enough to adjust his cheeks "so it can get out". Sometimes I wish he felt a little less comfortable and would leave the room:)

Eh... kind of. He used to not at all, or if it happened was clearly super embarrassed. I can tell he tries hard not to now, but when it happens its like, "meh." Works for me, I appreciate the effort!

Not on purpose.  He knows I don't like it so if it's feasible for him to step into the bathroom, he does.  I appreciate it too, especially since his whole family happily farts away including his Mom and sister so I know he wasn't raised that way.  Seriously, the 4 siblings range in age from 27 - 37 and they still think farting in front of each other is hilarious.  Drives me crazy!

    lol, not at all.

like i said in the other post, we are both equally private/embarrassed by all that stuff. but like me, hes like that with everyone! just not bodily function "in-front of others" people i guess.

Yeah. He has a mile-wide ornery streak; the first time he did it, he declared that accepting bodily functions was a true test of how close a couple is, and then let one rip. But for the most part he's normal and polite about it, haha.

    All. The. Time.

I don't know why he's gotta be so juvenile sometimes, like after a long and loud one he'll be like "That felt GOOD!". Ugh, I swear I think I'm dating a gorilla sometimes...

Neither of us fart in front of each other if we can help it. We've both had one slip out once or twice but as a general rule, we don't do it.

Now burping, is a different story. We burp in front of each other all the time.

I love my fiance but he is gassy and not embarassed about it. I think playing sports his whole life (AKA being around a bunch of gross boys all the time with few girls around) is to blame!

Yeah, I'm another one of those girls whose guy has never done it in front of her... which makes it awkward because my tummy is not always a happy camper. Heh heh.

No, he doesn't fortunately. I have always found that extremely disrespectful. I had a boyfriend fart in front of me once (he was the only guy to EVER have the nerve, and he was also a big piece of sh*t, sooo) and I got SO mad at him.

I just don't tolerate that. Yes, it's natural, but so if pooping, but people don't find it okay or "funny" to do that around one and other, so why fart?

Neither of us fart in front of each other. We don't find it cute or funny. We prefer to both maintain our manners when we're with eachother as well as other people.

We try to keep it away from each other as much as possible.  Occasionally he does the "you keep walking, I'll stay back here," thing, and I just walk faster, don't want to be around it.  Last weekend though, it was so sad, we were registering out of all things, and one escaped, from me!  I was so embarassed, he didn't hear it, it was silent, but it was deadly and it was not pretty.  I turned beet red, and he wouldn't stop calling me stinky all day.  He said I'm warming up for our marriage!

When I get really irritated I'll be like "Go to the bathroom!!!" and poor BF is banished for the day. Apart from me, he's not comfy farting in front of strangers, so I guess I'm ... er, special? Undecided

Umm yes, unfortunately! At first in our relationship he didn't and claims he had a stomachache the first few months.  Not sure I believe that, but he doesn't hold back now.  He is also lactose intolerant and loves cheese, ice cream etc. which leads to "issues."  Maybe TMI but there must be some others out there who feel my pain.  Dutch ovens?  Yeah...sick and he doesn't even do it on purpose.  Good thing I love him so much even if he has a more sensitve stomache than me.
