We have recycling bins for everything in the alley- including bins for food scraps that get composted by the city.

Yes, we have single stream recycle and I LOVE it.  Everything can just go in one bin, paper, glass, plastic, aluminium.  (We actually have to pay for private trash curbside pick up, otherwise we have to take it to the town transfer station.  They recycle there too, but you have to separate it when you take it there.)

My neighborhood doesn’t recycle. Well, I don’t really live in a neighborhood. Its pretty much in the country. I have found a recycling center that is open on Saturday from 8 to noon, so I just gather up all my stuff and take it there a couple of times a month.

It’s illegal to NOT recycle in San Fran. You actually get fined if the garbageman sees recyclables or compostables in your trash.

Last fall the city got a new contract with a new company, so everyone got a regular can and a recycle can. They pick up the basics, but you just have to dump it into one can. I personally like it but a lot of residents are yowling that they’re ‘forcing’ us to recycle, and how dare they make it mandatory to keep two cans.

We didn’t have recycling in our apartment complex until recently but the bins are locked bc we have a valet trash service (stupid)… I still collect all recyclables and take them to my aunts house to be recycled! 🙂

Single stream is the bomb! our recycling bin is huge and we put more into it than we do into the regular garbage!

Our city doesn’t offer curbside recycling at all.  We save aluminum to bring to the recycling center, but nothing else.

At my current apartment there is no recycling, and it makes me sad. I’m moving this month though, and I hope the new place has recycling.

At my parents’ house there is curbside recycling, and I loved having it.

Who are the people whose cities offer curbside recycling but don’t recycle?  Shame on you.

We currently live in a city that has fantastic recycling, but soon we’ll be moving to a city that doesn’t. Boo! I have a feeling I will be writing a bunch of letters to municipal officials in the not-too-distant future …
