Did your fiance/husband get a ring that is the same metal as yours? Did you care?
My rings are both white gold. I really don’t care if his ring matches mine (honestly, I didn’t even know getting matching metals was a thing until his mom mentioned it last weekend).
I really want my fiance to like his ring and want to wear it, but I also want it to be a real wedding band and look nice. He has this crazy idea of getting a COPPER ring, which I think is awful since it will turn green. I suggested rose gold as a nice alternative and he is not having that (which leads me to believe that he only wants a copper ring because I said no ).
We’ve looked at a ton of rings online and at the store and nothing really appeals to him. Everything is too heavy, too thick, too big, too shiny, [insert plethora of other excuses here]. Just thought I’d end this post with a rant about the most stubborn, indecisive husband-to-be ever! Gotta love him!

@moniquaa: I think go to the store and see. It’s so hard to tell online.
Ours are different. My rings are white gold and my husband has tungsten. he really didn’t care what metal his was, he just wanted something durable and not too expensive.

My ring is white gold and my fiance’s will be yellow gold. We don’t match at all, but we each got what we wanted!

totally different. mine are platinum/white gold and his is palladium.

God no, and if you saw DH’s ring, you’d understand.
He picked black titanium and I know no other way to describe what it looks like (I can’t find a picture) other than to say it looks like something you’d get at Hot Topic.
But it makes him happy and he loves it, so whoopee!

@moniquaa: Well in the end it does not sound like you’ll have matching bands and that’s okay. You both need to wear what you like. My husband chose his band. He didn’t look at many and knew it was perfect as soon as he saw it. I wanted to get a matching band but he did not at all lol his style was discontinued at the store and didn’t want anyone wearing anything similar… Not even me. He also felt it was too masculine for me (black titanium with a white gold inlay). Ive always wanted a plain white gold band to match his inlay stripe but I’m indecisive right now.
So don’t stress it. I’m personally a hopeless romantic and super cornball so I think the idea of matching bands is the most romantic thing ever. I saw an older couple at the supermarket recently and they were holding hands and had the same exact matching bands… I just melted.

Our rings are matching, and not just the metal, either. It was important to me that they match, so we both ordered channel-set white gold rings (they’re SLIGHTLY different; his is wider than mine, for example, but they’re essentially the same). It’s funny in a way, too, ’cause we wear the same ring size.

not even close. Mine is petit white gold thin band. His is a yellow tiffany’s ring with a medium thickness

I have a yellow gold set, where the ering and wedding band are wrapped together, and he has two rings – a tungsten “fancy” ring, and a sterling silver “play” ring.

@moniquaa: My Fiance was surprisingly picky about wedding bands too!
We ended up with a Tungsten for him and Platinum for mine.

I have white gold and my Fiance has dark tungsten, we didn’t care about matching! Although I have a peek a boo black diamond hidden on the side of my e-ring because his tungsten ring has black in it.

I have a platinum ering and a platinum/diamond eternity wedding ring. He has a dark tungsten. We each got what we wanted. Originally I wanted to match, but he doesn’t like the bright, light metal rings.
@october22: I love the peekaboo idea! If I didn’t already have my rings, I would totally do that.

Well we did have a matching set – both 5mm 14k white gold bands with 3 carved lines, except mine had a shiny finish and 3 tiny diamonds and his had a brushed satin finish and no diamonds. But I have since discovered I am sensitive to nickel so white gold is out the window.
I managed to contact the people who make the set and decided to get just one ring from the set for me but in 18k yellow gold. I decided to go without diamonds so that it matches FH’s in a different way as the metals are different now. So they look the same pretty much apart from the colour.
I dunno, I guess it really doesn’t matter whether they match or not but I just would like them too. Silly I guess 🙂

Nope. My rings are all yellow gold. His is stainless steel.

@october22: That’s really cool! I never noticed that… A lightbulb just went off LOL
