All of the above occasions he buys me presents for. And for no reason at all he will buy me flowers, and little things that he knows that I’d like , he is a sweetie!

We always get each other gifts for Christmas and birthdays. For anniversaries and valentines we just exchange cards and go out for dinner.

Its too hard to think of that many gifts for each other otherwise!

@ScottishMrs:  We get each other birthday and Christmas presents; we don’t do Valentine’s; and for our anniversary he takes me out to dinner.

We do birthdays, Christmas and significant anniversaries. My SO’s birthday is Valentines Day so from day one I asked him not to get me anything as I don’t think it’s dair. I’ve never been a big fan of V-day anyway so we usually just have a nice dinner at home for it and then celebrate his birthdat with friends a few days later.

Just Christmas and birthdays. Both of our birthdays are just three weeks after Christmas too so it’s a present-heavy time.

Valentine we do a card, and our anniversary we do a card and a meal.

He doesn’t really do spontaneous presents but when he does they are hilarious. It’s usually a bag of sweets, but there was once half a packet of lasagne sheets (never let him live that down) and on holiday he bought me half a watermelon.

My FI gives me presents fairly often but he hates surprises so doesn’t really like getting them that much! I get gifts for all holidays and sometimes just because he wants to.

There was one day before we moved in together…I had just got home from work (nights) and was about to get in shower and he was headed to work (so I thought) when I got a text to come downstairs. I had been pretty depressed about a few things the night before and there he was at 7 am standing there with a dozen roses for me! He had gone out after I left his house at 10 to buy them! He’s definitely a keeper! 🙂

He brings home flowers for no reason about once every other month or so.

But gift, gifts are usually just for holidays

@ScottishMrs:  Everything except Valentine’s day. He is very anti-Valentine’s Day and refuses to buy into the hype, but I totally back him on that … we just don’t celebrate it. Instead, our anniversary is a few weeks later and we do our romantic splurging there.

He’s always been amazing with birthday and Christmas gifts. I’ll never forget my first birthday with him – he took me back to that spot 6 years later and proposed there!

I also have to brag on him a little because he also does surprise presents. It’s nothing big, but he’ll bring my favorite candy bar home from work. It means so much to me because my dad used to do that for me when I was a little girl, and he passed away going on 2 years ago this November. I love the little things he thinks about like that. He used to always show up at my work on Fridays with a bouquet of flowers to make all the other girls jealous. Aw love him.

Birthday, yes.  Christmas, yes.  Anniversary – we’ve done a night out or gone away so that’s kind of our present to each other (we get each other cards, but the first year anniversary I did get flowers).  Valentine’s day, yes.  Just because, not so much.  I’m more the type to pick something up for him on a whim.  I have gotten flowers as a surprise, but not very often…lol 😉

@NocturnalNymph:  +1 That’s exactly what my SO and I do as well. Plus our anniversary is the day before my birthday, so that would suck for him!

Christmas and birthday presents and sometimes anniversary presents…sometimes anniversary events (concerts, spa, hotels, dinner, etc). Valentine’s Day we just do flowers and chocolate or something small. I’m not big on spending money on frivilous presents right now so we don’t do surprise gifts at all anymore, though we did all the time when we weren’t living together & were long distance! I didn’t care about how much money SO spent then, we didn’t have combined finances haha

He buys me a gift for my birthday and for the holidays, and for Valentines Day we do chocolates, a card, and a homecooked meal together 🙂
