...and is it weird that I have NEVER seen my hubby clean shaven? (well, I saw a high school pic of him but that's not the same). He says he hates the way he looks clean shaven (he has a gottee and often, a FULL 5 o'clock shadow). He pomised to shave at the start of our honeymoon so it could "grow back" before we went back to work but it didn't happen !
ARGGGH ! I am sooooooooooo curious !
And maybe I'll go on a shaving strike too and see if he likes it.
So does your SO's have facial hair?
(Pics welcome)
No facial hair, but he's got some rockin' sideburns.
When they get too long everyone at the office starts calling him Elvis.
FI used to have a goatee, but he shaved it off :(. He has red hair, and it looked sooo cute on him :(. I'm lobbying for it to come back, but we'll see, I suppose.
I have never seen the FH without his mustache, and I think I like it that way. I really don't think I would like him clean shaven, just not for him.
When mine shaves, he looks like he's in high school LOL. He's pretty much got a overall stubble pretty often, I love it :)
My FI rocks all sorts of looks! He's grown and kept a full beard since the end of October b/c he works outdoors and it keeps his face warmer...but he usually has a 5'o clock shadow on any given day and goes back and forth between having a gotee and once in a while totally shaving. :) I love them all but the 'stash is a little scratchy to kiss with haha.
That is so funny that you've never seen your SO w/o facial hair!
my boy has had a full beard for the last 4 years. he started with a goatee, but i LOVE his beard, trimmed or otherwise. See avatar to the left!
EDIT: avatar doesn't do justice. neither does this pic as it's usually thicker. this is his cleaned up look.
My husband has a beard. I've only seen him clean shaven once....and that was because he went white water rafting for a week & couldn't pack a razor. I prefer his beard! It's his trademark :)
Oh yes! He usually has a full goatee (full = around his mouth) but sometimes if he gets lazy, he sports a full beard. I think he looks like a turtle when he is clean shaven - I love turtles, but he does look a lot better with a beard/goatee.
As you can see on my avatar, FI has a small goatee, and I love it best when he's clean shaven, but he says it hurts when he does it too often so it's usually just like that once a week or so. Totally his idea, but he says he's going to 'try' for a fully shaven look when we're at his parents' for xmas b/c he thinks it might be better for the wedding. I said he didn't have too, but he says he's curious and wants to try when we don't see anybody we know (besides his family :-) ).
Mine has stubble more often than not, and someones just goes ahead & grows a full beard. Ugggh. I much prefer him clean shaven - he looks SO much better when he isn't giving me stubble burn.
And I have no problem with the beard except he just lets it grow. From cheeks to neck, no trimming or upkeep at all. I wouldn't mind it so much if he just trimmed the damn thing!
I'm all for going on strike, lol. I live in Canada - its an extra insulation layer in the winter! Come on! And if he can grow a playoff beard (which he does every year for his Rec hockey league), then so can I....on my legs. Take that!
(plus I never really understood why grown women *have* to maintain an appearance like some kind of barbie doll in order to be considered attractive? Like, wtf? Who invented THAT reasoning?)
My FI usually has the whole moustache beard connected thing going on...like this. That's not him by the way...just an example.

He used to go clean-shaven sometimes but when he had stomach cancer the chemo made all of his facial hair fall out (although he didn't lose any from his head...weird) so he has worn the above look since then.
Right now he actually has a full beard even though it's cut low. It's his "Rick Ross" look <insert eye roll>...again..not a pic of my FI...that's actually Rick Ross. I REALLY don't like this look but I am in the process of locking my hair and he isn't thrilled about that either so we both have to endure...LOL

My husband used to sport the 80's stache back in the 90's and early 2000's. I saw a photo of him and thought he looked like a cast member of the TV show CHiPs (if you're old enough to remember that show)! Hubs used to be a mounted police officer so it was fitting for me to just call him Ponch when I saw photos of him from that period of his life.
He cannot grow a full beard for some reason but can rock the goatee. I like him clean shaven though for selfish reasons...it's easier to makeout with him!!!! LOL!
My FI has had a beard since we started dating 5 years ago. He shaved it one time ever. I love my bearded man!!!!

FI used to always be clean shaven, but now he wears an 'extended' 5 o'clock shadow... I think he looks sexy, but sometimes it's too scratchy for me :)
my fi has had some sort of facial hair since i met him and i love it that way. one time he had to shave his face for work and i totally freaked out! he looked SO young and like a completely different person. i even had a hard time kissing him because i was thinking, "who is this man!?" haha! i told him that he is not allowed to shave ever again
I LOVE facial hair! When I first met my husband he was clean shaven, cute, but not what I like.
Through the years he has rocked a goatee, just chin hair, but for the past 2 years it has been a beard. I LOVE the beard!!
I don't have many pics on this computer, but here is one where you can see his beard from the side :)
Hubs doesn't have any....when I have a say. I don't kiss him as much so he shaves often!
My FI goes back and forth.. I met him when he was clean shaven, but he now totally rocks what I like to call his mountain man beard and 'stache. It definitely makes him look older, because last time he shaved it he looked like such a baby to me! Crazy!
I've only seen my husband once without his facial hair! I love him both ways, but he prefers his goatee and I love it, too. It suits him, I think. :)
I have never seen him clean shaven, or without significant chin hair. He is Canadian though, and I think his family evolved to survive in the cold weather by developing extra body hair. Thankfully no back hair!

My partner used to stay clean shaven all the time, but mid-way through college he sarted growing a goatee.. then after college it became a stash/goatee and soul patch combo.. now he has a full on beard, he is about 1 step away from Grizzly Adams.
He actually looks really really strange to me clean shaven now.. it is like he loses 5 years when the beard goes!
I think it might be a Canadian thing ;) lol when we moved further north that is when my partner took the leap from goatee to full beard, go figure :P
Yep, mine always has a goatee and sideburns, and I love it! I can't imagine him without any facial hair it would be weird to me.
He did grow it out long with a mustache to be the Gordon's Fisherman for Halloween and I no likey, it was too much but he looked exactly like him tho! :)
My Fi has a small thin mustache and i have never seen him without it. I tried to get him to shave it so I can see which look I like better for the wedding but he refuses. It doesnt bother me. Just Curious!
The day after my fiance proposed he shaved his stubble into this ridiculous looking handlebar moustache a la 1970s and when I burst out laughing and told him to go finish shaving he tried to get away with 'you said yes! that means I can do what I like now'. He honestly looked like a sad puppy going back to the bathroom with his tail between his legs...
If he could I'm sure he'd love some serious facial hair, but work wouldn't allow it.
Ha, always. He looks like he's 12 without facial hair! I love his beard.
Side note: I have a friend that doesn't "allow" her bf to have facial hair? Is this weird or is it more common than I think?? Not trying to threadjack - it's related?
I've only seen my hubby once in three years without facial hair. He typically sports a full goatee, like he did on our wedding day. I didn't like the non-facial hair look and neither does he (thank goodness lol). P.S. Sorry the pic is so large.
Fiance has a hard time growing facial hair. He's not a very hairy guy so it comes in all patchy. Right now he's got a little bit of a stache and goatee but it's been like 2 solid months and they're still pretty thin. poor fiance lol. I love it though. Maybe if he keeps it going it will come in thicker....
I have seen him in a full beard (after hunting) and his normal goatee as he is below.
It suits him.
Mine has the constant 5:00 shadow. All the time. I <3 it! He says that in high school he'd shave in the morning and by 6th period they'd send him to the principal's office to make him shave lol (they were obviously pretty strict about facial hair)
Ugh, my husband only shaves once a week and by day 5-7 I can't stand it!
this is mine....clean shaven :)
I love it, and I would Die if he actually cut it off!
I loove facial hair.
My hubby rarely shaves.
theres nothing like being scratched by the fuzz while getting kissed.
@AmeliaBedelia: Honestly, yeah...I find it a little weird when either member of a couple tries to control the other's appearance, but this could be because I used to date a guy who was crazy-manipulative and emotionally abusive, and one of his big things was that wouldn't allow me to cut my hair shorter than a certain length. Not that I'm saying this is what's happening--I just have a really bad association!
My fiance didn't have a beard when I met him, but he had some CRAZY 'chops. He grew his facial hair out my freshman year of college (he was a senior in high school and decided to "surprise me" by turning into a mountain man, lol). I whined about stubble-burn and generally gave him a really hard time, but then I realized that he actually looked hotter than before! He has had a pretty full beard for the last three years, and I'm pretty sure if he shaved it now, I would cry.
Here's a picture of us on the night we got engaged!
