I may erase this in a bit, it’s kind of embarassing. I was just wondering, when you’re snuggling with your SO, does he or she ever like to rub your stomach? I feel really conflicted on this since I admit it does help me fall asleep since it’s very relaxing, but my stomach is one of my most sensitive areas (weight wise that is, not physically) and I get really self conscious about it. I can’t help but wonder if it’s “normal” for guys (or girls) to do this to their partner (when they’re NOT pregnant, PLEASE remember that) and if so, does it likewise make you feel weird or does it not bother you?

TwinkleBoss: OMG, what is up with that??? My fiance is always rubbing my belly when we cuddle and I am SO NOT PREGGO!! I thought it was just one of his quirks. I feel bad because I’ve been short with him about it lately because I HATE it. It drives me bonkers.

TwinkleBoss: Oh, not pregnant? No not really…it’s a “sensitive” area for me too. He might be touching if we’re spooning. But not rubbing or anything. We’re more of head rubbers lol

This could be something he picked up if someone (his mom for example) did for him when he was a kid and it was calming so he thinks it has the same effect on you? I don’t know…

TwinkleBoss: I’m sure everyone has their “thing”. Thank goodness my DH doesn’t do that because I’m super sensitive about my belly, too! That’s where most of my chub is.

I don’t like people touching my stomach either because I’m self-conscious about my weight. My fiance doesn’t really rub my tummy, I think he’s picked up that it makes me feel nervous. We do rub each others backs, arms, hair/head, and sides to help fall asleep! It’s relaxing, and it helps to focus on something physical. We usually just face each other and lay on our sides, so it would be awkward to try to rub bellies anyway.

TwinkleBoss: he likes to pat it sometimes lol if it’s looking trim/slim.. I’m glad he doesn’t rub it though as round my belly-button is quite sensitive, and not in a good way!

My fiance and I have been together for several years and he just recently started rubbing my tummy, lol. TMI ALERT: He actually did it when I was about to orgasm, and it made the orgasm more intense.
Maybe let him go at it and you guys will start to like it!

Ugh yes! He will like rub and grab at my belly and I have a little pooch there that is my #1 most self conscious part of me… I ask him all the time NOT TO TOUCH MY STOMACH but he doesn’t listen. >.<

I LOVE having my belly rubbed. He does it ocassionally, I wish he do it more. Sometimes I just pick up his hand and put it on him and tell him “RUB!”. When he wants to knock me out to put me to sleep quickly he defintely rubs it LOL. Never realized that other women wouldn’t like it that much.

TwinkleBoss: MY HUSBAND DOES THIS! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE! Sorry for the yelling, lol.
Personally, I hate it, because I’ve gained a bit of weight there, and it feels like he’s calling attention to it. Though I didn’t like it before that, either.

My FI does this, and I hate it!! I keep telling him too! Although now it’s become a little more of a joke, because we’ve been talking about when we would have kids etc. so I’ve told him to stop until we have a baby, and he keeps saying ‘well let’s get busy then’! lol

Yes and I HATE it! Sometimes he’ll even joke, “how’s our baby?!” WTF I’m not pregnant, dude!

Every man I’ve ever been with has looooved stroking my stomach. I gave up being sensitive about it and just let it become a joke: “Go figure the one place every man instinctively wants to touch is the one place every woman is reflexively self conscious about…”

Wow, I would be REALLY upset if my SO made any type of baby joke while he was touching my stomach. That makes me extremely uncomfortable even just reading it and I think it’s really rude of a guy to tease like that.
But I’m surprised it’s this common! Of course I figured it happened with other couples too, but I thought it was kind of strange and maybe not very normal. It is ironic though that so many women are made to feel self conscious of that area but it happens to be so popular among men to touch. I guess I’m conflicted on it since I admit, it is soothing and it really does put me to sleep very quickly, but at the same time, I feel so ashamed afterward when I wake up or I’m getting dressed and I see my tummy it sort of ruins everything.
