I started my take on the South Beach diet Sunday and I’m hoping to lose 10-20 pounds over the next 3 months. I told my SO and he seemed supportive but of course he added in that he loves my body the way it is. I told him that as much as I want him to be attracted to me, I need to love my body too! I have gained about 10 pounds of ‘relationship weight’ from way too many dinners out and late night frozen yogurt runs. I think a little dedication will really make a difference, especially since carbs are my downfall.
Does anyone else find that their SO is supportive of their diets or do they to try convince you to stay the same?

My Fiance is very supportive of my weight loss because he knows I’m doing it for me, and not for any other reason. He’s actually on the ball with it so much that we go to the gym together! He makes me lift without cheating, and just keeps encouraging me. I think, actually, we encourage/motivate each other to go since we’re both in the shape-up phase!

Yes, we are losing weight together. He urges me to stay realistic and keeps me from going overboard – ex, hating myself if I go over my calories/don’t exercise when I should. Both of us have a LOT of weight to lose, so it’s nice to be in it together.

I’m trying to get in shape/lose some relationship weight and I am grateful that my SO is supportive of my fitness goals. It helps that we’re both health conscious when it comes to meal planning – I’m glad I married a man who loves his veggies! We’ll go to the gym together and this morning he even packed my gym bag for me, AW!

he supports it fully, & loves me the way i am. he’s stick thin & can eat anything though. he’s my trigger! always offering me sweets & carbs! …it sucks!
