Our does. Our initial Anniversary was on Oct 18 and he proposed on Oct 17. I wanted to keep the new Anniversary in the same weekend, just because I thought it would be sweet. So our wedding date is Oct 16!!

I tried but it didn't work out. He proposed last Oct. 16 so I wanted to get married this Oct. 16 but couldnt because my venues were all booked up for that date so we settled for Oct. 2, which I think is a good date. You got Oct. 16 though ....congrats!!!!

Thanks, Min. We were going for Oct 15, but decided to change it. I just got the word that our venue is available for our new date! I am so relieved.

Ours just happened to be when our two favorite venues coordinated.  I would've rather had earlier summer.  Oh well!

Not in our past, but it forever will be in our future, obviously!  I did not try to get one of our old "dates" because, although romantic, I wanted something new to add to the mix. I love our new anniversay!

I just had a thought: I know that I didn't want to get married in the heat, so the early fall was ideal. But I kind of want our Anniversary to be in the warm weather, so I can wear my toes out and cute dresses! AWww man...

Not really.  We wanted to be married in September and didn't want a Labor Day weekend wedding (the first Saturday in September), nor did we really want the 11th (the second Saturday in September), so the 18th worked out well!

SanDiego, Fi mentioned Sept at first, but that was a definite no, because that's my birthday month!!

FI suggested getting married around our dating anniversary but I vetoed that right away.  Our anniversary is 5 days before my birthday, so one always ended up getting overlooked!!!  I didn't want to be like one of those kids born around Christmas since with an early Sept birthday anyway, I grew up with bday presents always being back to school clothes and binders...thanks mom...

Ours does!! My grano was a big part of our family, and her birthday is March 13. My "something borrowed & something blue" is a pin that my dad gave to her on one of her birthdays, which happens to be my colors, and it's going to hang down from my bouquet. We're also getting a memory lantern with a candle in it with ribbon to be at the ceremony off to the side. I couldn't be happier about my date! :)

Originally it didn't hold any significance but then we realised that my parents were married on the 18th of Oct. And we're getting married on the 18th in the year 2010. So there's a small significance.

Thanks ladies! :) I loved my grano to death & it was so sad when she was taken. She was the perfect little grandmother! The one who always makes you things even when you don't need them! & her house that she lived in at the time was like a heaven to me, haha! Because she would make dolls all the time & I LOVED them! :)

Congratulations. I wanted Oct 16th to be our date as it does hold signifigance to us, but his family couldn't make it that weekend so we went back to the drawing board. Our date is completely random. Fiance had a dream about it and that's how 1-1-11 came to be for us. We're sorta a little weird because we do believe we get signs and he felt very deeply that this was a sign and that it felt "right", plus he thought the whole 1111 thing was cool (Undecidedmen) I couldn't come up with a day he liked better so alas here I am as a 1-1-11 bride. But really being wed in the winter was our dream to begin with so I'm glad this date could work for his family.

i wanted the first weekend in september since FH proposed on sept 1st. i figured i would keep those anniveraries close. and his birthday is in september so i figured he would be less likely to forget LOL

i always wanted to be married in march though around st patricks day but alas.... that would have meant waiting over 18 months! so a year it is :) lol

Nope not at all. We wanted September, and due to Jewish holidays, Sept. 11th, and Labor Day (and the fact that we needed a Friday due to budget), the 24th it was!

It is my grandparents' anniversary... and my God Mother's... and my mom's 2 best friends' anniversaries as well...  4 couples will be celebrating with us!!!  (We didn't pick this date, but it was the only one available for the church... we later realized how cool it was that we will have so many people we love spending their anniversary with us on our wedding day! Two of the couples are celebrating 40 years!)

Thanks, MrsJellyBea. I totally understand what you are saying about guys wanting weird dates. My FI was going on about how "cool" it would be to get married on 10/10/10.  Now, we are getting married on "Sweetest Day", so that's cool enough for him, lol

We were having a Sunday wedding, and September 2010 was one of the few months that worked with all family members. Chose labor day weekend so we could have an evening wedding and people wouldn't have to go to work the next day. So no real significance. I'm not a fan of the numbers in the date at all, but this is so minor that I don't make a big deal out of it.

Miss Chocolate    July 24, 2010   Texas... Married in California

We picked July 24th for a few reasons. We were both born on a 2, we got together July 2nd, so when it came to picking a date, it was either we wait another year for July 2nd to be on a Saturday, or we pick something else in July (our fav month). It just happened to be that the 24th was on a Saturday. What we came up with is that we would have the 2 for our birthdays, the day we got together, and us as individuals, then we would have the 4 for us joining our lives together and being one. I know, it seems sappy but it makes perfect sense to us. I can't wait!! <3

we're also keeping with our original anniversary. we met on leap year 2/29, so we can't stick with that one unless we wanted to wait awhile, but we got engaged a year later 2/28, and we'll be married one year after that, this 2/28. it was actually an accident for us to get married then, we wanted march but it kept being pushed up and that ended up being our date.

I hope not...We're getting married on Memorial Day. One of my Vietnamese coworkers said in their culture it was "horrible karma because it is a day about dead people". Frown

We originally wanted our date to be 6/10 since that's our anniversary (and he proposed at 6:10 pm) but Thursday was not a good day for a wedding, so we settled on 6/11 instead.  We'll just have to celebrate for two days!

Ours isn't really significant. Its August 21, 2010. There are a few things though. My fiance's birthday is may 21, his hockey number is 21 and there is 21 years between his age and his mothers..... But thats all. We wanted to have it on the 28th, but our venue was booked, so we changed it to the 21st... Its cool the way it worked out though...
