I am getting married next year and absolutely love my dog and so I want to include her in my wedding. I want her to be my flower girl and found a picture of this little cart online. It's called a Pet Petal Pullcart and it rolls behind the dog and dispenses flowers down the aisle. It's $130 online and there seems to be only 1 person who sells it. I was wondering if anyone has used one of these and if if it's worth it? or if they are doing something else for the flower girl pup:)

My doggies (2 Yorkies) are going to be "flower dogs" and wear dresses but I think I could make that with supplies from Michaels for about $20 or less...so no cart for us. I am doing flower leashes/collars for them though.

Very cute! No idea if it's worth the money or not. We had our one dog as ringbearer (and he did carry the rings down the aisle on his collar). Our other dog was the flower dog. For her we attached some flowers to her collar.

I think you'd have to do some serious training around pulling the cart if the dog isn't a breed that naturally handles those.  My golden is a great dog, but I could see him being a big concerned of the cart being tied to him.

There are actually websites dedicated to helping you teach your dog to pull a cart. :)

I agree with Mink that using a cart would require a lot of training for the dog. Things like that can easily freak a dog out. I'm seriously considering having one of our dogs come down the aisle with the "Here Comes the Bride" sign. We have 3 but only 1 that I think would do well with all that pressure and not want to visit with guests as they walk down the asile. . I'm trying to figure out ways to incorporate the other two as well.

Please just warn your friends and family that a dog will be involved in the wedding.  I love dogs but I have a *lot* of friends and family that are highly allergic.  If they know in advance, they can drug up before the wedding.

Awww... so cute!! We really want our dog (pug - see my icon) to be involved in teh wedding somehow. He's such a part of our lives. I think it'd be cute if my best friend's little girl (she's 4) walked him down the aisle with the rings. If we go that route, we would have a good friend be in charge of Ham after that. I reallllly want pictures of us with him though. For our engagement photos, we've already planned to have a few of us and the dog.

Thx for the tips ladies! I might try and DIY it myself too. If anyone does can they send me details and photos on how they did it!?! No need to worry about my dog being there, anyone who knows he knows she will definitely be there:) She's my baby:) She's also a hypo-allergetic breed (Lhaso Apso) so people with allergies don't have reactions to her:)

We're planning on having our 80 pound lab as part of our ceremony (if we do an outdoor ceremony). If not, we'll have him in pictures. Everyone who knows us, knows that he is a big part of our lives. He's well behaved and trained, so I'm not too worried about him bothering other people. My biggest concern is him running over to the trees to pee mid-ceremony, but what can you do???

I think it's a great idea to have your dog as your "flower-dog." Good luck!

There is actually no such thing as a truely hypoallergenic breed, just some that are less likely to cause a reaction than others, for this reason alone I would never have my dogs at a wedding and I'm a dog lover. I have 4 and have been breeding/showing for 25 years and was a professinal dog groomer for 15 years.

Most dogs, unless exeptionally well socialized with large groups of people can stress out, causing digestive upset and diarreah. Many a wedding has been ruined by the dog pooping when it shouldnt or freaking out because of large crowds, never mind that you have much more important things to worry about than if the dog has gone potty, eaten or has water or is behaving. A lot of venues will not allow animals, and certainly not in a area where food is going to be served, thats a health code violation.

My guys, to some extent, will be in the engagement photos but no way would I have them at the wedding itself, just a bad idea in my opinion....and I love my dogs more than I like most people, so thats saying a lot.

We were just at a wedding last weekend and their pugs were the ring bearers!  They were so cute!  They just put little color-coordinated tutus on them.  It was fun.  And, you woulnd't have to pay $130 for a flower cart!  :)

@ItsHollyAgain:  I'm getting married the day after you and my pug is in my wedding too!  Some people have asked if we're sure, especially since it's a semi-destination wedding, but having her in the wedding is the one thing I'm not compromising on.  My youngest brother is walking her down the aisle.  And then after the ceremony she'll go back to the hotel.  She's going to be so cute, there's nothing cuter than a pug!

Dog as Flower Girl?! : wedding flower girl dog ceremony aisle petal Dakoda.jpg

My flower girl is carrying a basket of petals with Dakoda (my furbaby) in the basket...he is mix (not sure exactly of what - he was a malnourished rescue when we found him!) -looks like a husky, but he is 2 years old and still the size of a puppy...and he loves to be carried around.
