It’s really great that all the bloodwork can out normal, knowing that helps you rule out some serious stuff like kidney and liver disease. If her stool is normal and not loose is could be arthritis, that hunched pose for defecating can be difficult for older dogs to hold so they go in a few spots. If she is having loose stool it still could be parasites, heartgard only prevents round and hookworms, there are many other. The pumpkin will help if she is slightly constipated, which she could be from dehydration if she is drinking more and urinating more that can be a sign of kidney disease, but looks like her bloods were normal. But, one thing to keep in mind is that bloodwork will remain normal until about 75 percent of the kidney are not working so well, so she may be having early signs. I assume a urinalysis was part of her work up to check concentration and for protein loss. If eveything was normal it could be old age like your vet thought.

@canthugallcats:  when was the last time you bought food? My a dogs ate two different dog foods ( one was on a puppy diet) and the older dog would sneak some food. They were both fine. We got a new bag of food ( I didn’t let the older dog eat anything) and the puppy got explosive diarrhea. I was confused. The older dog got some puppy food ( she is 7lbs) and she got explosive diarrhea also. I stopped feeding them regular food and gave them pumpkin. As soon as I gave the puppy ibis normal food, the explosions began!!

the food was contaminated.

@canthugallcats:   It could be food allergicanary often the cause ear infections. If she is itching then that would cause the hair loss. take a look in her ears if they look really dirty then she probably has an ear infection, if they look normal but are red its an allergic reaction and will become an infection soon but you may be able to prevent it but starting ear cleanings now

If she is having soft stool you should put her on a bland of white rice and lean chicken, mostly rice, once her stool is 100 percent normal you can slowly switch her back to her normal food. You could try a hhypoallergenic diet like white fish and sweet potatoe, I think both those brands make one. I would really recommend a stool sample check and urinalyasis, if her urine is concentrated that’s a good sign that kidneys are working well. And to rule out things like giardia and other parasites for the cause of soft stool
