What kind of dog is he? Light fur or dark?  When my light fur malti-poo’s get sunburned it’s almost likek a human sunburn- red and irritated looking. The spots/darkening that you’re talking about may just be his skin maturing- I had a dark black dog growing up and her skin tone changed in the first year from very light (almost white) to somewhat spotted.  The vet said that this was very normal and not to worry.

If the pup doesn’t seem too irritated I wouldn’t worry too much- I’m sure your vet can tell you more on Thursday.

In other news… let’s see some pics of your baby:)

Probably nothing, the veterinarian will have to look at it to make sure. Feel free to update us later.

When is the last time you gave him a bath? I only ask because my two dogs seem to get similar yellowish/brownish discolorations that go away once I bathe them.

Hmmm…I was under the impression that yeast only grows in the folds of skin, but I have no idea if that is true or whether or not it can spread to other areas of the body.

Could it be eczema? Mites?

I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. I would talk to your vet.  🙁
