@badabing88:  How many days has it been since they ate (or how many meals have they skipped)?

I think it’s time to call the vet if they are absolutely not eating.

What’s the tempurature by you been the last few weeks?
I remember my family dog didn’t really want to eat once it got hot outside… and he loved food!

@badabing88:  I working a vets office I would recommend taking them in. There could definitely be a underlying problem that you wouldn’t see. The doctor could probably even prescribe an appetite stimulant. I have seen many cases where a dog eats a food for years and for whatever reason just won’t eat It anymore. As long as they are Remaining active that’s a good sign 🙂

@badabing88:  kind of a long shot but have you looked in their mouths to make sure they don’t have sores or infected teeth?

Yeah I’d take them in just in case.  That’s not NOT eating at all, just skipping a lot of meals really.  My dog occasionally skips a meal but resumes in 2 days.  It could be the heat too.

If you do change their food, make sure you mix in with the food they are familiar with. The kibbles probably made the dog sick because it is a drastic change from what it is used to. They need to be gradually introduced to new foods.

Will they eat treats? Maybe try hiding a smelly treat in their food (my dog loves the dehydrated liver bites).

When we go on vacation, or leave him with a friend/somewhere he’s unfamiliar with, he won’t eat unless we stick a treat or two in his dish, then he’ll eat the whole thing.

Hope they are ok!

@badabing88:  Every summer the 99 Boys pull this crap….we go through 100lbs of food a month all winter long, and then summer hits and my boys turn into Karen Carpenter….you can’t get them to eat anything…all day long…no matter what….since we free feed, they’re in charge of what they eat and when, but I notice a big shift from food consumption, to water consumption and everyone is still covering the lawn with shit…so it is all good

@Nona99:  What is “free feeding?” I’ve always heard that dogs aren’t smart enough to choose how much they eat and that they would keep eating until they got sick :-

@badabing88:  It could be the heat, but I was also thinking about dog parks. My friend’s dog swallowed a piece of water bottle at the dog park and wouldn’t eat because it was lodged in his stomach. I assume you’d bring them both, so maybe they both got into something.
