I need ideas. I cant decide if i want to do a more darker makeup look or go more natural. I know for sure I want a dark smokey eye which Im using blues cause I have a lot of blue color accents Im wearing. But not sure if I want to do a darker lip like a darker red or brownish which is what i usually wear everyday. or if i want to go more natural and do a more nude color. I did a makeup test with the nude color and i really liked that too. heres me when i did the make up/hair test. I think i will be doing a little more on the eyes cause i want them more darker then that. Im just afraid with my dark red hair if i do lighter makeup and with my light skin, plus with my white dress ill end up being really washed out looking
This is the eyeshadow look im going for. probably wont do that dark but something kinda in between what i did and this.
This would be the lipstick shade I would be doing if i did the darker brownish red color.

@jbbs1222: I think the “rule” is that if you do a dark smokey eye than the lip color should be soft.. Or if you do a dark lip color than the eye color should be soft. The last think you want is to look too “clownish.”

I agree with the post above, don’t over do it with both bold eye and bold lips. It ends up looking too much and too made up. I personally love bold smokey eyes and plan to do that for my wedding. Then I’d have a natural lip colour or perhaps a little paler. That way the attention goes right to the part you want emphasised the most. Draw their eyes right to yours 🙂

Speaking as a makeup junkie and former cosmetician:
That makeup would be wayyy to heavy for you IMO. Black eye makeup in photographs does not come off well either. The way the eyes are done in that picture makes the eyes looks closed and small. Not well defined and open. Dark lipstick makes your lips look smaller in general. It’s going to come off gothy.
If you like a “smoky” look, try it with browns and neutrals. Black should only ever be used as lash definition (liner) and mascara. Never as eyeshadow. As for lips, I would go with a gloss as opposed to a lipstick in your case. I don’t think you have to go nude, but pick something subtle with a bit of colour. Not overdone.
