i think you should play with the pinks a bit more as well... i like the blue but it seems wintery to me, and i know you're getting married in the caribbean...
and you did a great job on your makeup!! i suck doing mine!!!
Yeah.. I pretty much suck at putting on make up.. looks good to me! Hey, you're an NC bride too! wwoohhoo
crebre...I considered putting pink on for Thanksgiving but I already had my outfit picked out
.
I definitely plan on doing pinks and a little gold. It's just hard to tell how eyeshadow will look on without actually seeing it on a face...you know?? I think I will get a better feel by browsing some of the wedding photos and from other bees' makeup trials...LOL. I am going to be stalking the pages until trip time.
Good Job! Im actually going to the makeup store to have it done day of because I think no matter how good I got - i would be so nervous day of that I wouldnt do it properly!! hahaha
You did a great job! cant wait to see then final product! :)
...I suck doing makeup too ladies....I just keep trying. The consultant at sephora actually gave me a card that had step-by step instructions that were pretty easy to follow. It was funny b/c I had all the brushes she tried to sell me but had NO CLUE what they were for prior to the consult....LOL
@Osaka...my hope it that going through the steps of doing my make-up and hair will calm me down on the big day. I would go crazy if I had to sit there and let somebody else do it. The only way I can get rid of my nerves is to keep myself busy and give myself something to focus on
@mimosa...I am born and raised in SC....have lived in Charlotte, NC for the last 11 years. My mom about had a fit when I suggested getting married here in Charlotte but was surprisingly OK about me getting married in Jamaica...go figure.
Just wanted to throw in a "wow!" and a "kudos!"
You look gorgeous!!!
@ja bride: trust me i feel ya!! i think golds would look really pretty as well... i usually do golds when i attempt to do it... here's me (although this is not wedding make up)
@JamaicaBride: you are soooo beautiful! I love your eyemakeup. I am doing my own, but I only have idiotic looking pictures. I'll post one anyhow.
@MissHelen...thanks...I keep wanting to practice and practice...but I am pacing myself b/c sephora isn't cheap...I am rationing foundation like a precious liquid...LOL
@jmc...no pic
@jmc...I LOVE your eyes...they are nice and bright and almond shaped....I have eye envy b/c mine almost close when I smile big =)
It definitly looks like a pro did it! I wish I were talented enough to do my own! lol.
@His Barista...you know what it was...that darn brush...LOL! I thought the sephora lady was selling wolf tickets when she told me that the key to applying makeup it to use a brush b/c it gives a smoother finish. Once I got home and tried it using a brush...I could immediately see the difference.
@alundberg...thanks...I may try to do a less neutral gloss...maybe a coral tint or something. I don't want to do anything too loud though b/c my lips are already big...they don't really need any extra pop...LOL
@crebre....I have eye envy once again...you are smiling a big beautiful smile and your eyes are still wide and pretty. I need to figure out how to make my eyes look bigger gosh darn it. You are all glowy and stuff...very nice
notice the cocktail on the table for my eyes, i was a bit tipsy lol:D... also tinted moisturizer from mac makes my skin have that dewy glowy-ish ness lol!! i think your eyes look seductive and sexy, i like em :D
You have such a beautiful smile! I think your makeup looks great, especially the blush as it really highlights your cheekbones!
@JamaicaBride: well then the grass is always greener because I love it when people's eyes close when they smile. I think it makes people look extra happy and excited.
Thank you, though!
I haven't decided yet. I'm pretty good at doing my own make-up, but I have a couple options to choose from. My FI cousin is make-up artist so I thought about asking her to put my face on. I am considering airbrushing. A co-workers mom also does make-up, but I think I want her to do my hair instead.
You did a great job on your makeup! I would suggest more gold or pinks for the eyes. But if you are going for the blue, it looks great! I would also suggest some fake eyelashes because it makes your eyes stand out in pics. Beautiful job. : )

I have a couple of threads about my plan to do my own make-up the day of the wedding. I am curious about how many other bees plan on doing the same thing. I would love to see photos if you want to share. If you are using pinks for your eyeshadow colors I would especially like to see your look...
I had a sephora trial and decided to try and do it myself for Thanksgiving. I plan on using idfferent eye shadow and lip colors for the day of the wedding but I really wanted to get the hang of using the brushes, blending, etc. The tip cards they give out at sephora are a big help.
