I consider the tossing of the bouquet and the whole taking off the garter thing a cheesy tradition in itself.

I’ve never been to a wedding where they do the dollar dance or garter auction.  To each their own… but from many people I’ve spoken with who attended weddings that did these two things, they found it tacky, not cheesy.

If you must pick between either, I’d definetely go with the dollar dance. Perhaps its just among my family and  people I know, but it’s not as tacky as people make it to be. We all have fun! 😀

I know there are different views about this, but we did a garter auction and made a killing on it.  It’s a little awkward to have someone go up your wedding dress like that but as long as you just sit still and make sure your garter is close to your knee it’s not that bad
