I took one it told me that I was pregnant so I went and bought a more expensive one just to be sure! I was! I say go buy a digital one just to be safe but if a dollar tree on says you are pregnant then you probably are :)
I used them in the past, but when I actually thought I was pregnant, I went out and bought a first response. I guess that time I just knew and wanted one that I thought was more reliable.
I have read (cant remember where) that they are exactly the same. People just like to pay more because they feel it will be more accurate, but really the only difference is the read out method (lines, digital, plus sign) and marketing behind it.
The science is the same.
I used one and it came up pregnant in about 4 seconds. I did not buy a more expensive test to confirm. Everyone I know that has used one, the test was accurate.

According to the August issue of Ob.Gyn. News (Volume 44, Issue 10, page 10), Dr. Sunaina Sehwani and associates at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. tested 27 dollar-store pregnancy tests and compared the results with the early-response name brands that are commonly used in physician and clinic offices.
The article states that the dollar store brand was 100% accurate.
i used a dollar tree brand test and found out i was pregnant at 3 weeks 4 days. very early and very accurate.
I used dollar tree tests too, after spending oodles on the other ones each month and reading other ppl used dollar tree with success. AND after the BFP came up and I went to the dr's office for confirmation, the test they used looked exactly like the dollar tree one! :) Completely totally accurate.
I used them this month and get a BFP very early!!!! I use them because I get the urge to test early, so I use the cheapies at 10, 11 DPO so I'm not wasting tests. But this month, I got a positive on the dollar store test very early, and the went out and got a digital to confirm.
@lefeymw: I love that you actually found a 'scientific' article about this. I guess there is research for literally everything out there!
I used a couple of the early tests and it didn't detect I was pregnant. I don't know exactly when I ovulated so maybe it was too early. But a week after I stopped testing I was still exhausted so I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of tests and they all came up as positive (and I was pregnant).
I'm planning on switching to the dollar store ones this month...I have to test during my second pack of pills (I take my birth control continuously for three months, then go off for a week), and it's way too expensive to keep buying the brand name tests. Good to know they're just as accurate!
There was an article I read about what to buy and NOT to buy from dollar stores - Pregnancy tests were one of the best rated due to its price (CHEAP) and is just as accurate as any other store bought test. :) Not packaged as prettily but there you go!
Finally a product we can use that saves us money!, thanks ladies!

Im just wondering if the pregnancy tests at dollar tree really work?? Has anyone ever used one and it actually showed that you were pregnant? These tests only cost one dollar! Im worried they are cheap and not accurate.
