Just wondering if anyone has purchased vases or other wedding decor from the Dollar Tree website? Since everything is $1, it's definitely budget friendly, but I'm sure I'll be getting what I pay for in terms of quality. Then again, it's only going to be used for one day!

I really like that I could get 9" centerpiece vases for $1 each!

I ordered the same vases you are talking about, the 9.5 inch flared cylinder vases. The quality is great actually.  I orderd 12 to start with, and have ordered an additional 18.  I now have the 30 of those, and 90 of the 4 inch flared hurricanes.

You'd be surprised.  Go for it, I am very happy I did!

I just bought some from the store today!!  I mean, they aren't the heavy glass vases, but they serve their purposes.  Not to mention, for just an evening, they are perfect!

I went to Michaels today as well.  They have more styles to choose from, but most of them are $9.99 and up that look similar to the Dollar tree ones.

I'm using two different types of their vases and have been impressed by the quality of both!

I bought several items at DollarTree.  Raffia, glass beads, floral wire and tape, tulle circles, I almost bought wine glasses on-line.  And-if your bulk purchase on-line items and have them shipped to your local store I think the shipping is free!

I ordered mine from there. The only thing I would suggest is to order more than you need because they may break during shipping. One of mine did and the store was out of stock so even though they replaced it with another item I was still short one vase.

I made 2 different shipments, and didn't have any issues with breakage.

I bought the 9" cylanders, clear candle sticks and square votives from them and they all arrived in great shape!  It's a great bargain and I definitely recommend it!

I have a vase from the dollar tree, and the only time you can tell it's plastic is when you touch it. It's a great way to go!

We are getting wine glasses from them. While they are not OMG Crystal!, they're good quality, especially for $1 each! Is there a dollar Store/tree near you where you can go in person to check the quality out? i know that their website will give you the locations nearest to you.

I purchased mine from Dollar tree, it is the same quality as the ones found at Michael's, which are more expensive.

I used dollar tree vases for my BM's bouquet vases and my bouq vase - we put them on display.  Trust me when I tell you that a glass vase is a glass vase.  Mine were 9 inches (I think) but here is a photo of one in action - Ignore how high up my bouquet is, there were WAY too many stones in it and i just threw it in there and didnt push it down :)Dollar Tree Vases? : wedding centerpiece vases Yount0576

Definitely a great place to go for bugeting. And not all of the dollar trees things are cheap-o pieces of poop. They've actually got some good stuff in there...on occasion!

    I blew the budget    7-19-10

If you order online and ship to your local store there's no shipping charge. I ordered about 5 of each size to do a trial run and they're pretty dang good. I plan on grouping 3 different sizes together on each table.

I saw some at the dollar store and they looked fine to me. They weren't excellent quality but for one day they will do. You cant tell by looking at them that they are dollar store vases.

i say go for it! i went looking for glass cylinders to do those floating candle things for the ceremony. no luck at the one by me, but i'd much rather pay a dollar than pay 10.00 per vase at michael's. looks like that is what i'll be doing though!

Quite frankly, once you fill them with beautiful flowers, who's going to look at the vase?!

I used the dollar tree too, I just want to warn everyone of something that happened.  The vases were perfectly fine, and arrived quickly, but for about 5 months after that, we got harrassing phone calls.  All scam artists trying to get money from us.  We traces all the calls, and found out they were coming from Jamacia - they called 3, 4 maybe 5 times a day.  So my fiance would ask for their name and phone number.  They would give him very american sounding names & phone numbers with a Jamacian exchange.

At one point, they started threatening my fiance's life... so we went to the police and filed a report, which allowed us to go to the phone company, and they could start tracing and blocking the calls... she said, "did you order anything online recently"... the only thing we had ordered were the vases from the dollar tree.  She said that they most likely sold our address and phone number to someone, who sold it to these people.

However the phone company was going to charge us like 40 dollars to change our number!!! Even though our lives were being threatened.  So we turned the volume down on our phone, and quit answering.  We still got calls for a while, but when we never answered, they started tapering off.

Just wanted to warn everyone.  The vases are great, but if you can, buy them in the store!

I bought half of my vases from the Dollar Tree ($1) and the other half from Wal-Mart ($3). I figure, they are only for one night and they will most definitely serve their purpose. The cheapest I found close to the Wal-Mart vases were at Micheals for $5-$6; and when you're trying to get 30 or more vases, the money starts to add up!

A friend of ours is using vases form the Dollar Store and they look great. Like you said, they are only used for 1 night, they don't need to look great for years to come or anything.

I bought 36 8.5" vases from the dollar tree store. I think I'm just simply going to put a few flowers in them and use them as centerpieces....  I ordered them online and picked them up free shipping at the local store.. it was great..
