Has anyone ever done this? If so, what organization did you go through? Or has anyone recieved a donated dress? If so, what organization? And was there anything you did or didn’t like about them?
Now that I’ve got 2 months of marriage in the books, I’m starting to seriously look into this. I’ve always said this was my plan after, since I don’t forsee any daughter of mine to want to wear a 30- year old wedding dress.
I want to hear about experiences with different organizations before I decide on one.

There are several. A friend of mine wanted to donate to Brides Against Breast Cancer, but they only take dresses 2009 and up, hers is a 2005.
Here is a link a friend sent me with a few different sites that take wedding dress donations.

Great thread! For bridesmaids, there are also charities that charities (possibly the same ones?) that give high school girls dresses for prom.

I donated my first wedding dress via a facebook page set up to help tasmanian bushfire victims who’d lost theirs earlier in the year and didn’t have the finances nor time to get another.

I donated my dress to http://www.fairytalebrides.org. I personally like this organization because they help other brides who otherwise would not be able to afford a dress and the proceeds are donated.
I personally like donating to smaller organizations, which I feel my dress will have a bigger impact.

There’s a place in Toronto that accepts donations:
The Brides’ Project
I’d look around for something similar.
(I really want to donate mine here when I’m done. I’m going to check them out before purchasing my dress. If I can buy from them, I definitely will!)
