That sound like a great idea, and I'm sure those flowers would brighten up their day.
If you are gettign married in a church, they may ask that the flowers remain as a donation to the church. If that is not an issue I'm sure arrangements can be made if you call the local nursing home. Many have drivers that may be able to pick them up while out on deliveries and such.
As a former Activity Director at a small nursing home/facility-I would love it! It helps to know in advance -to be ready for multitudes of flowers-rounding up vases, and having them ready. Activity Directors are BUSY people-we have loads of stuff to schedule. But we Love our residents! And they do love the flowers! They love to have volunteers to come share their skills- once a week, or once a month even! Please think of the smaller ones, that generally get forgotten! Thank you.
My first job as a teenager was at a nursing home. Then in college I worked at a group home for developmentally disabled adults. I am utlizing a friend who wanted to help out in one way or another and having her deliver some of the floral centerpieces from our reception to the nursing home & group homes that I worked at.

I'm interested in donating our flowers to a nursing home or some such after our ceremony in Boston. Has anyone done this? Will any place pick up the flowers, or do you bring them to the home?
