We had our registry information included in our shower invites, which informed a big chunk of our guests.
Anyone else has asked us or it has been passed by word of mouth. Most people figure it out. Or they just give you $$.
If your grandma wants to buy you something for your wedding, she'll do one of ___ things:
-ask you where you're registered
-ask someone, like your mom, who knows about where you're registered
-buy you something that's not on your registry
-give you money
Agreed, MissMelissaB.... that's what people did before those pesky Internets.
Most older ppl who don't use the computer know to ask the Bride's mother where they are registered :)
Geez, I'm really having trouble with this internetting today (is that even a word?). I meant to put a number in the area with the underlines. I didn't know how many options there were, so I listed first and then meant to go back and fix it. So much for checking your work!
Very true ladies. Thanks! The Grandma I'm speaking of is my dad's mother--my parents are divorced--and my dad can't hardly remember what my FIs name is! ::sigh:: Jeez HAHA It'll work out! I just know I won't be listing the places on the invites--and I'm not doing a shower--so it'll be passed along somehow. I recently got an invite from a girl back home and they made their own "list" of registry places and then cut them out. UGH!

Okay, so I know now this is not something people are supposed to do. Makes sense, it looks like just because you invite someone they will/are/should buy you a gift. Of course it would be nice if they show up, but it shouldn't be expected; however, every wedding I've been to (only, um, three) they included those horridly ugly "We're registered at _____!" cards from stores.
Do you think people are not including the cards anymore because people can list that stuff online? Also, what do you do if you know some people don't use the internet (grandmother) but you don't want to blatantly tell her where you are registered at --- like mentioned before --- coming off like you expect a gift is on the way?
