I’m so mad right now. I had to work today, and my parents & brother and sister-in-law (all in from out of town) are at home today with DH.
I sent DH a text asking what they were all doing, since it’s really rainy here. He says “Your dad is messing with the soup”. Um…..my soup? As in the soup I made, from scratch, for Christmas Eve dinner? “Yep. He picked out all of the okra, and added more vegetables”. WTH?!?!?!?!
I’m furious. Holding back tears mad. I specifically made a trip to a different grocery store to buy these specific frozen veggies that include okra & lima beans, and he’s picking them out?? Without asking?? And, I don’t want extra veggies in there, without adding more spices.
And now, I’m going to have to try to go home & smile, and just pretend it’s no big deal, because it’s Christmas, and this isn’t really that big of an issue to start an argument over. But, I feel like that is so rude & insulting!!! I wouldn’t ever just start messing with someone else’s food!!!

@soon2bS: Ugh annoying. At least it was your dad vs. some inlaw you hate though! I would say something. Why pretend it’s ok when it’s not? Maybe he will learn not to do it again next time.

That’s pretty inappropriate. I can’t imagine a guest coming to my house and messing with food I’ve prepared.

I ended up saying something, because I was so mad. I didn’t make a huge issue out of it, but my dad knew I was irritated. And, the soup wasn’t even good after he messed with it. So, I barely ate any, and DH had none. Holiday fail. 🙁

@Regina Phalange: I know!! At least it wasn’t just me being upset. My brother told our dad that was way out of line and that he’d be pissed too. I’m just really mad because my homemade vegetable soup is really good. DH and I make it at least twice a month during the colder months. And now, no one even got to try it my way, because he messed it up before we even ate! Grrrr!!!
