Hmm, that I do not know. I would think your hormones would have dropped back down. Are you sure it is your period and you aren't pregnant? I would ask your doctor! I hope you find the answers you need soon!
Thanks for responding. I was hoping that there was someone that is going through the same thing. Or already has so they can tell me what's going on.
i had what i thought was my period the first month that i was pregnant with my son. my doctor speculates that i was carrying twins and one of them miscarried. this also happened to my FSIL. do twins run in the family? maybe this is what is going on for you?
When you say dc do you mean D&C? Because if you got a D&C, your hcg levels should drop to zero by 7-8 weeks which is about the time when you get your first period.
Your doctor would have ordered the blood tests and given you the results, I would call your doctor and ask for another hcg blood draw to verify your hcg is in fact 0 now that you've finally gotten your first period.

I got another one done yesterday and it was 19 but not <5. My Dr that I was seeing said that if it hasn't dropped that something must be left inside of me. That Dr wasn't in yesterday but he said that it's just dropping slowly. I asked him how can the test result be 19 which means that I am 2-3 weeks pregnant and get my period? He said hcg has nothing to do with being pregnant. He said hcg just takes a long time to get out of my system. D&c is it.

It's been two months since my dc. My period just came but a few days before my period my hcg bld test came at 23. Can u have ur period and have a hcg result that hasn't dropped to 5?
