I’m in the midst of planning my wedding reception and STRESSING that our venue might be a tad too small. We did not invite over the max capacity (we kept it about 30 people less). We did not send out invites yet so we still don’t have a firm # of “yes’s”….but I’m starting to worry. Has anyone been to or had a reception inside the yellow barn? If so, how many guests, tables…?! Anything to put my mind at ease would be wonderful 🙂

Looks like you’re three tables short of the max, which should be fine. Even if the venue’s max capacity is tight, you’ve given yourself a lot of wiggle room there.

This may be too late to help you, but we had 16 or 17 tables of 8 (~130 people) in the Yellow Barn for our wedding in September. That still left plenty of room for the DJ in one corner, our open photobooth in the other corner, lots of dance floor space in between, and the tables weren’t cramped at all. I have some pictures of the space and tables/chairs all set up if it would help you to visualize it. How many people are you shooting to have?
