- Wedding: July 2011
I was on Youtube and saw a wonderful video by an English lady about how to make a double diagonal pocketfold invitation. I knew right away that I had to have something this posh for my wedding. However in the video she uses ‘double sided flimsy card’ (Americans read 110lb cardstock from the office supply). My invitations are made from handmade cardstock, 200lb weight with real flower petals (yellow) in it. So I had to play with my paper until I came up with my own design for double pocketfolds that work with heavy weight organic (has plant material) card. My card is also single sided. It took a LOT of effort but I am really pleased with the results. I will post pictures soon. I had the printing done by vistaprint so that everything will match – still waiting for the shipment! Once it gets here I am going to cuttlebug, emboss and embellish.
I learned a lot with my invites, easily the toughest project that I tackled thus far. I am still going to be doing lots of decorations etc because we are paying cash for our wedding and I need to stay on budget. So everything from Out of Town bags to water bottle labels and some of the flowers is on me….good thing I started months ago…I’d be toast otherwise.
