They must be unzipped first: After you've downloaded the font, double click on it and click "extract all files". Then save the font in your font folder, which is usually located here: Start Menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Fonts.
You should then be able to see the fonts in MS Word (you may need to restart your computer, though).

dani, I love you. :D Thanks! I had completely forgotten about the existence of the fonts folder... plus I'm using Windows Vista (humbug) so it was in a different spot than I would have initially looked.
I had already downloaded some fonts that were not zipped... I found the fonts folder and dragged them from my downloads folder to the the fonts folder...
But now I know how to use zipped ones, too. Sweet!

Okay, so I have virtually no trouble downloading fonts. But I have a question. Where do they go once they are downloaded? They never end up in Microsoft Word for me, and that's where I'd like to use them! I want to download and use fonts for my invitations... I'm able to view them using the True Type Font Viewer, but other than that, they seem useless. Am I doing something wrong? Am I maybe downloading them to the wrong place?
I can't seem to figure out how in the world to use zipped anything, so I'd like to avoid zipped fonts, unless someone can tell me how to that as well...
Please help!
