So sorry to hear about this -- the Orpheum was an awesome venue!!
Not sure if you are willing to look outside of the downtown area, but if so... there's the Bianca room at Tre Bella in Mesa, Tempe Center for the Arts (check out this photog's blog post: http://stephaniefayblog.com/index.cfm?postID=224 -- to die for!), Inspirador in downtown Chandler.

Have you looked @ Tempe Center for the Arts? Also, I've heard of a Japanese Garden here in Phx, sorry don't have details. Inspirador in Chandler. Hope this helps.
have you checked the boojum tree? that is so sad:( omg! i can't imagine, or AZ science center. tempe center for the arts is a beautiful place right on tempe town lake! oh oh oh, wait, i just got something in the mail. or in a catalogue, its called the waterfront in tempe... its not like your venue obviously, but... it may help with what you are looking for? also check locations in scottsdale?
we are having our vow renewal at papago park, where we got married at originally...

or there is the W hotel... or try Aloft on washington street, very nice, but not sure if they do weddings, but it is really beautiful inside (i've been there)
The Boojum tree is soooooooo beautiful! for sure. But, sadly out of my price range :( Let us know what happens...
I think that you might like Inspirador. It is located in downtown Chandler. The cocktail area is an art gallery, there is an outdoor space with a fireplace for the ceremony (depending how large your wedding is) or a great in-door space. It was one of my top contendors- but my FI thought it was too contemporary for his taste. Best of luck!

My fiance and I found the perfect Phoenix wedding location--the Orpheum Penthouse.
The Orpheum Lofts are a beautiful Art Deco building in downtown Phoenix. We would get married on the rooftop, with the Phoenix skyline and sunset in the background.
Then we would have our reception in the penthouse suite on the top floor.
It's absolutely perfect. Or, it was. They're currently in foreclosure and are no longer doing weddings.
I've looked all over--the Ice House, the Arizona Science Center, monOrchid, the Bentley Projects, 44 Monroe, the Valley Ho--nobody has anything close to that hip, urban, downtown aesthetic.
Help me, hive! Where can I have a cool, urban, Art Deco or Japanese Modern wedding in Phoenix?
