My wedding has come and gone now, but I wanted to show off our centrepieces . My hubby came up with the idea, and they turned out great!
The idea stemmed from wanting to: 1-have centrepieces that could double as wedding favours, and 2-make use of work connections to get a deal on the supplies. Well, my now hubby has a client who is a green grocer so we thought of using dragonfruit. During our early dating days we enjoyed trying out new and wonderful fruit, and this was one of them. The colour worked perfectly with the blue and pink scheme.
I picked up the glass bowls at Ikea, the ribbon and tags at Michaels, and we the dragonfruit from the supplier the day before the wedding. I wasn't able to do a mock-up of the centrepiece since buying individual dragonfruit in the grocery store can be quite pricey. There was 1 fruit for each couple or family, and usually one or two extra to make up 6 in each bowl. Besides the fact that (I think) they turned out beautifully, many of our guests had never tried a dragonfruit, so they loved the idea too!
Here are some pictures:
Did anyone else have a unique idea for centrepieces?
