I just started wedding gown shopping and as I was searching online I found the dress of my dreams! Estelle by Kenneth Pool.
Naturally, it costs $8000…. and yes that would be 8x my pre-alterations budget. Go team!
I’ve never seen anything like this before… I adore the intricate scalloped beading on the bottom. It’s so unique and just PERFECT.
So, here is the question… has anyone come across a dress with a similar look but much smaller price tag? Please let me know!
Also, is anyone wearing this dress? If so, post pictures! I’m dying to see it on a real person 🙂

I was creeping on photos my Estelle Gown online, and came across your post. I purchased this amazing dress in August, and I can not wait until the dress and I meet again. It was pricey, but when you put it on, you’ll fall in love and understand why. I’ll post a picture when I get it, but that won’t be for 6 months! Good luck dress shopping, I’m sure you’ll find your dream dress!

I saw this dress in an issue of Bride’s magazine and loved it, and then I saw the price tag….I say if you can afford it, GO FOR IT!!

@allicat: omg! omg! people replied to this! I’m so glad that you got this dress, Allison! Congratulations… you absolutely must post a picture when it comes in!!
There is no way in hell I could have afforded it. I did end up buying Casablanca 1978. It doesnt look anything like the Estelle, but it does have a somewhat unique beading pattern to it, and is absolutely beautiful 🙂 (and <$1000!)
I don’t have pics on my computer now, but here is my dress: http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/27/338

@MASPA: no way! I spoke with someone else via WB that was being overcharged. The list price was around that ~$1200 range…the store that I bought it from had it at $965. Then I was at another store, who also happened to carry it- and she offered it for $899- but it wasn’t in stock, so I couldn’t try it on there. I went back to the 1st store and they honored the $899 price. So yeah, I got a good deal. Did you end up going with the 1978??
ETA: stalked you out, saw your dress. it’s gorgeous! congrats 🙂

I love the scallops. It reminds me of a flapper girl dress in a really good way. 😀

I LOVE the Kenneth Pool Estelle!!! Did anyone get it? I would love to see pictures! I am going dress shopping for the first time this weekend and this dress is on my list – I am hesitant to try it on because of the price tag…ekk!
For the original poster…I did find some similar looks with smaller price tags. Army Wives Sally Pressman just wore this Kenneth Pool dress and bridefinds just put together a list of beaded, strapless gowns that emulate the Kenneth Pool (all at a less expensive price tag)

@NicholeNYC: Did you try it on? Did you get it?!?!? ahh must know 🙂
And thanks for the link! I actually stumbled upon that recently and cursed the woman’s name for wearing my dream dress, haha :). And none of those other dresses did it for me, Estelle is just so perfect.
But anyway, my dress hunt is long over! I found my dress and I love it and it didn’t cost me my 1st born child.
Good luck and make sure to post again if you end up with the dress!! 🙂

I absolutely love the Kenneth Pool Estelle and the 8K pricetag leaves this dress only to my dreams. I’ve been searching for dresses for about a month now and nothing comes close to the intricacy and exquisiteness of the Estelle dress, especially with the beading. However, I have found a dress similar in terms of combining two materials together.
Kenneth Pool: Silk Organza and Beaded Tulle. Strapless beaded trumpet gown with shirred organza bodice and crystal beaded belt. Beaded tulle skirt is adorned with scalloped crystal detail. http://www.kennethpool.com/gowns/dresses/estelle.shtml Est Price $8K
Allure Spring 2013 9004: Elegant and sophisticated. This slim gown combines lace and satin beautifully. The natural waist bodice features a sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical ruching. http://allurebridals.com/Store_ProductDetail.aspx?pid=4FG4Dg273752F830h2D1 **The belt is gorgeous and the bling you miss out on the bottom of the dress, you make up for in the belt. Est Price $1800
Hope this helps ladies and I’m sure there are more similar dresses out there that won’t leave your bank dry.

Thank you so much for posting the photo of the Allure 9004 dress. I currently have already ordered a dress, but have been tempted by this dress to make me second guess my original dress :/
How did you like the fit?
