Hi Bees,
TuscanBride here again.
First of all, I cannot thank you enough for the endless support you all have shown me since I first signed on here hysterical about my dress remorse. You have been here through every step of the way, giving opinions on thousands of dresses as I ransacked bridal boutiques across America for "the one". You patiently gave your opinions, offered suggestions, looked through endless photos I posted. I appreciate it SOO SOO much. It has finally paid off :-)
Evidence of your support through my ridiculous Dress Drama Journey:
Step 1: Admitting Remorse/Exploring Options
Step 2: Confusion Sets In (Experiencing White Wash)
Step 3: DREAM DRESS! FINALLY!
The cruel irony of it all was that on the night that I found the dress of my dreams (which only took about a year and a half), my fiance and I had an "enlightening" phone conversation that highlighted some "differences" that we had about our future together that were definitely worth "exploring". Long story short, we took ample time to sort through these differences, and for that reason, I didn't want to commit to a wedding dress until we came to a definite conclusion. In the end, we were able to work through our issues, and it has given us both even more confidence that getting married is the right next step! (that is the VERRRRY condensed version).
However, taking that extra time meant that I would forfeit buying my dream dress brand new from the designer since I was within the 6 month timeline until the wedding. But I was ok with that, since it gave us the peace of mind to really work through our differences without the pressure of buying the dress looming over us. Plus, what good is a wedding gown if you cancel the wedding? ha. When we finally decided to stick with the original wedding date, I exceitedly called the boutique to let them know that I would buy their sample! "Oh I'm sorry, we can't sell you the sample." WHAT?!?!? After all that, after 1.5 years of being engaged, abandoning my original wedding dress, practically calling off my wedding, please, for goodness sake, just let me have the sample for crying out loud. Luckily, my consultant who is AMAZING asked her manager, and they decided to sell me the sample!!!
So, a few days ago, my mom, sister and I went back to the boutique to slip on my dream dress, and put down the final deposit. She's officially mine!! :-) Paid in full! And I could not be more excited, because after all of this, I now can CONFIDENTLY walk down the aisle in the dress of my dreams toward the man of my dreams. :-)
