I'm so excited- I'm finally off the waiting list!
Here's the story: I studied abroad in Rome in college... last day, tossed a coin in the Trevi to return to Rome, but told myself & wished I wouldn't return until I was with the man of my dreams.
Fast forward eight years later, and me and the then BF decided to plan a trip to Rome to celebrate my bday (12/29), his bday (12/31) and of course NYE. I knew he had booked a photographer to follow us around Rome on the 30th- we've been wanting cute pics and thought this way we would at least have great pics of our trip. That morning, we headed right to the Trevi... where he proposed!! (and the photographer caught it all). This is the only pic we have right now (still waiting on the professional ones)- but I love that it caught "the moment."
We returned with a layover in Chicago for one night (where we used to live until six weeks ago)- and he & his family had planned a huge surprise engagement party for us. So sweet- so excited and now- OMG, I have to plan a wedding! :)

@Mrs.Loub- I mentioned it ONCE during a very intoxicated st pats and was mortified when I realized I had blurted it to him- but he never mentioned it again, so I kind of figured he didn't remember/process it. Guess he did!

Also, in case anyone was wondering- that's his hands holding the ring not mine. LOL.
CONGRATULATIONS! that sounds perfect! The engagement party thrown in there was such a wonderful extra bonus. Plus you had a photographer! keep posting when you get pictures :)

eek! yay! I love it! I'm totally biased but I looooooooooooooooove cushion cut rings. The band is gorgeous too-- he did so good!
